Google Docs™ has no shortcut for accented letters. Accent Letters adds one.

Open the sidebar and 690 accented letters are one click away, from everyday acutes and umlauts to Polish, Vietnamese, Turkish and Icelandic letters. Click one and it goes straight in at your cursor.

FIND A LETTER THE WAY YOU THINK OF IT
Search by the letter, its Unicode name, a language such as Polish or Vietnamese, or a plain description like "two dots", "hat" or "squiggle". Language chips narrow 690 letters to the ones a language actually uses.

FAVOURITES AND RECENTS
Pin the letters you use constantly and they stay at the top. Recently used letters are kept automatically. Both are stored privately against your own Google Account™.

FIX ACCENTS YOU ALREADY TYPED
Select text and add accents (type cafe' to get an acute, n~ for a tilde, c, for a cedilla) or remove them, including letters most tools miss. Options for German style, lowercase and URL slugs. Undo with Ctrl+Z.

WORKS IN DOCS™, SHEETS™, SLIDES™ AND FORMS™
Docs™ and Slides™: the letter goes in at your cursor and the cursor moves past it, so you can click three letters in a row and type a word.
Sheets™: the letter is added to the end of the selected cell. Google gives add-ons no access to the caret inside a cell, so that is as precise as any add-on can be. Formula cells are left alone.
Forms™: clicking a letter copies it, ready to paste. Google Forms™ exposes no cursor or selection to add-ons, so no add-on can type into a question for you. A "Build a word" mode lets you click several letters and keep the whole word on your clipboard for one paste.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No data is collected. The add-on makes no network request of any kind. It cannot see your Drive™, and it cannot see any document other than the one you have open.
