I've tried a bunch of Google Sheets add-ons, and GetSheetsDone that just came out seems to be hands-down one of the best. Most add-ons are either too complicated, super buggy, or just don’t do what you need without tons of setup. This one just works. It’s way easier to use than trying to setup AI stuff with tools like Zapier or Apps Script if you’re just looking to automate AI workflows. The interface is clean, and it doesn’t feel like it was made in 2012 (a rare thing with Sheets tools). I set up a recurring AI report & analysis in like 5 minutes. The intuitive UI made it really easy to figure the app out. If you use AI in Sheets for anything business-related or repetitive, this is a no-brainer. Highly recommend giving it a try.

Surprisingly Powerful AI Add-on for Sheets – Actually Useful! I stumbled onto AI4Sheets on Product Hunt. I was tired of manually summarizing and cleaning up messy spreadsheet data, and I’d tried a couple of similar tools before without much success. This add-on has honestly made my life a lot easier. First, setup was pretty smooth. You just install, connect your Google account, and pick which AI model you want (I went with OpenAI, but there are several options). The sidebar pops up right in Sheets and gives you a bunch of handy tools—summarize, extract, even web scrape stuff. What I didn’t expect was how much you can do straight from formulas. There’s this AI_TABLE function that literally generates a table of any type of data with just a prompt. You can ask the AI to fill out the table however you want, just by giving it a prompt and specifying the column headers. I used it to organize a bunch of survey responses and blog posts, and it just worked. You can also get the AI to classify stuff, pull out key details from random text, and do all sorts of repetitive cleaning tasks with almost zero effort. Another thing I liked: the web extraction feature. You give it a URL and tell it what you want, and it pulls in structured data right into your sheet. Way easier than trying to write your own scripts or copy-paste data. The add-on has a ton of other tools and functions I haven’t even tried yet, including these Brain functions that look super interesting. If you work with a lot of random, unstructured data—like emails, notes, or website content—this add-on really shines. And if you want to use AI to generate content or fill in data gaps, it does that too (though it’s not perfect with huge amounts of text at once, but that’s pretty normal for these tools). A few little things: There’s a limit to how much data you can process in one go, but for normal use it’s fine. Some features are a bit hidden at first, but the docs are clear once you poke around. Overall, if you spend a lot of time in Google Sheets and wish you had an AI assistant to do the boring stuff, this is a solid add-on. I’ve already recommended it to a few coworkers, and it’s saved me a bunch of time. Not perfect, but honestly way more useful than most “AI” things I’ve tried. I've tested a bunch of AI plugins, and this one is the most complete. Being able to connect my OpenAI and Anthropic key is a bonus. Customer support was responsive the one time I needed them. The functions return results quickly, even with large datasets. I love being able to generate, summarize and translate content on the fly. The usage dashboard is also very helpful for monitoring on my monthly credits. I also appreciate the 100 in-app credit that I got after install that allowed me to try the addon without having to purchase credits.

I use AI4Sheets for my research especially the PDF and DOCX extraction tools followed by data analysis by AI. My only wish is for more step-by-step tutorials. The documentation is clear, but visual guides could replace the learning curve and would help onboard new users faster.
