Structure — merged cells inside the data, title and banner rows above the header, blank rows and columns splitting a table, more than one table on a tab, total rows mixed into the data, and sheets with no data at all.

Headers — blank or duplicate column names, and headers that run over two rows.

Data types — numbers stored as text, dates stored as text, and columns that hold a mix of both. These are the ones that silently change a total.

Cleanliness — stray spaces and inconsistent capitalisation that split "North", "north" and "North " into three different groups, and hidden rows and columns the assistant cannot see.

Advisory — volatile and external formulas, very wide sheets, tab names that say nothing about their contents, and IMPORTRANGE, IMPORTDATA, GOOGLEFINANCE and friends, whose values change underneath the sheet.

Every finding names the cells it applies to, so you can check it yourself rather than taking our word for it.
