Overview
Overview

Thermal Label Maker is a Google Sheets™ add-on for designing, generating and printing custom-size thermal labels directly from spreadsheet data.

Create professional print-ready PDF labels for Zebra, Brother, DYMO, and other thermal label printers — without external label software or complex setup.

Labels are designed visually using exact physical dimensions in millimetres and can include spreadsheet-driven text, barcodes, QR codes, images, lines and rectangles.

Spreadsheet-Driven Labels

Placeholders can be linked directly to Google Sheets™ columns, allowing label content to be generated from selected spreadsheet rows.

The label editor supports dynamic text, barcode and QR code values, image data and reusable label layouts.

Preview labels using actual spreadsheet data before generating or printing.

Barcodes and QR Codes

Generate barcode and QR code content directly from spreadsheet values.

Supported barcode formats include CODE128, CODE39, EAN-8, EAN-13 and GS1-128, with configurable values and sizing within the label layout.

QR codes can also be generated dynamically from spreadsheet data or configured label values.

Generated barcode output has been physically tested using an Axicon 7015 ANSI/ISO barcode verifier, with positive results across all tested samples.

Counters and Sequential Values

Counters automatically increment values across generated label copies.

Sequential counters are supported in text, CODE39, CODE128 and QR code values, allowing each generated copy to contain an incremented value.

Counters are resolved during label generation using the current copy index, so the first copy uses the original value and each subsequent copy increments it sequentially.

Multiple Copies

Generate multiple copies of labels directly from selected spreadsheet data.

Copy generation works together with dynamic placeholders and counters, allowing repeated labels to contain sequentially changing values when required.

Visual Label Editor

Design labels using a visual editor with exact positioning and sizing.

Elements can be moved, resized and configured directly on the label canvas.

The editor supports text, barcodes, QR codes, images, lines and rectangles, allowing complete label layouts to be created inside Google Sheets™.

PDF Generation

Generate print-ready PDF labels using the exact label dimensions defined in the editor.

Custom label sizes can be used for different thermal media formats without requiring predefined label templates.

Zebra Browser Print

Zebra Browser Print integration enables direct printing to compatible Zebra printers from the browser, with control over printer settings including printer selection, copy quantity, darkness, print speed, media type, media direction, and print position offsets.

This allows compatible Zebra printers to be used directly from the application in addition to the PDF printing workflow.

Label Templates

Save and reuse label designs instead of rebuilding layouts for each spreadsheet.

Templates preserve the label structure and configured elements, allowing the same design to be reused with different spreadsheet data.
