This add on is almost useless; it does what it says it will do - slowly. But you may not want what it does. The GMail portion is OK, but not as good as third-party browser extensions (similarly slow). The real question is why it can't create tasks/projects/whatever from a document!? (neither your own nor a shared doc). When working info is already in Asana, why would I need a google doc to house the info? And then I'm too scared to use this lest I lose trust from colleagues because the Asana add-on backdoors its own privacy: I am authorising anyone with document to view the Asana project/task regardless of controls in Asana!? I can already cut and paste from Asana (same work as adding the chip), and I control what is in the doc. However, with Asana's smart chip any project contributor can add to the task, and unbeknownst to either of us their addition is in my document!?! This is a solution looking for a problem, or maybe just a problem waiting to happen. I don't see the use case.

Terrible customer service, I highly recommend avoiding Asana at all costs. This is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with.

What do you like best? So much to like about Asana. 1) Deep integration with G Suite, Google's Apps: Gmail Google Calendar Google Drive Google Forms Google Spreadsheet Google Chrome All the Google goodness makes life so much easier. 2) Robust feature set. 3) Feature set is easily extended through the Asana ecosystem of about 60 native integrations, including 6 integration networks, such as Zapier, each with their own network of integration partners! 4) Native templates and third-party templates available to jumpstart your projects. 5) Customizability/flexibility to the way you work. 6) Latest technology, so it's fast and nimble. 7) Beautiful interface—so important given the amount of time you spend in it. It compares very favorably to every other PM app I've ever tried. It lacks integration with Google Contacts for team members and invited guests such as clients. What business problems are you solving? What benefits have you realized? Many. It's versatile enough by itself, and especially through its integration partners to cover much functionality.

Asana allows me to work with members of my team all over the world, and that's incredibly important. It's flexible, durable, and scalable - all things I look for in a task management tool. Whatever I throw at Asana, it can handle. I'm a big fan and it allows me to move things forward in a big way.

Could not agree more with Rene. Just add an organization and company directory and you have got the sweetest, powerful, simple (key word "simple"... yet deep project management capabilites) CRM. Its UX/UI in both online and the iPhone are beautiful and very clearly organized. As a result of grasping what needs to be done faster and having an organized task trail, that greater clarity naturally lends itself to more productivity. Harvest time tracking integration nice plus too!

We started using Asana less than 2 years ago and I can't imagine not having it. We are very progressive PK-12 school with a 1:1 computing initiative and 20 projects going on at any given time. Great for delegation, the dashboard is nice, mobile apps are good. Very good system w/ a small learning curve. (Slack integration too)!

It doesn't work. I installed it, I see the icon in the Google apps, but there is no change to G-Suite. Even attempting to launch the add-on just opens the Asana window. There are no visible integrations anywhere in the mail interface.
