This add-on lets you instantly convert every math equation in your document into beautiful latex images!
Works with:
10,000,000+
Overview
This add-on lets you automatically convert every LaTeX equation in your document into beautiful images! Simply enclose your math equations within $$ ... $$ and click the button in the sidebar, and all of your equations will be rendered in LaTeX!

This add-on has many advantages when compared to other formula editors or the default Google Docs equation editors.

★ Convert multiple equations at the same time, using any function supported by LaTeX!
★ Always render in the highest quality!
★ By using automatic sizing, the rendered image will exactly match the font size of the equation! To change size, simply drag the box or change the original font size.
★ By using inline sizing, fractions and other tall expressions will be shortened to match the rest of the expression!
★ If you want to change the equation after it has been rendered, just click the 'De-render Equation' button!
★ Type equations directly into your document instead of clicking to an external sidebar!
★ Change colors and font settings in your equations using CodeCogs LaTeX commands!
★ Only converts equations within $$ or \[ symbols, meaning you render only the equations you want to have rendered!
★ NEW! Option to de-render all equations!
★ Actively updated, meaning YOUR feedback can help improve future versions of the add-on! For more info, check our website at autolatex.com.

Permissions Explained:

Permissions always look scary. Here is a clear list of the permissions needed, and the reasons why.

★ View and manage your documents in Google Drive - The application needs to be able to search the documents for equations, then edit the documents by inserting the LaTeX.

★ View and manage data associated with the application - Each user has preferences (for instance, the size setting that you selected), and these need to stay between closing/opening the sidebar. Note that this data is strictly local and never transmitted or uploaded.

★ Allow this application to run when you are not present - Once the "Render Equations" button is clicked, the application needs time to retrieve equations, render them, download them, then place them in the document. This permission only says that when you switch to another tab, the processes can still run in the background.

★ Connect to an external service - The application needs to fetch images from CodeCogs/TeXRendr/Roger's renderer.

As a poor student having to write a 50 page long essay on statistics who can't afford Microsoft Office I though I'd have to suffer the use of Libre Office and it's equations. You have saved my life. I'm donating from my first paycheck. This is beautiful and so easy to use. I do not believe it could have been done in a better way.

Grad Student taking ridiculous higher math classes, and this extension has been deeply useful to me in taking notes for class; I prefer LaTeX for homework, but keeping my notes in Google Docs means I can easily share with my classmates. Thank you!

This add-on is so crazy useful... It enables me to take notes for all my comp-sci classes (math heavy) inside of google docs... I love it!

Incredibly useful. GDocs has INSERT EQUATION but it gets very messy when you are dealing with complex fractions because then the variables are very small, you need to change the font of the equation. With this Add-On, you can easily type LaTex syntax even for complicated equations. However, it is not flexible since you cannot import specific packages containing specific notations. Other than that, incredible!

Love It! Although it could use the ability to import common Latex imports such as \mathbb{N} as set notation is pretty important to Latex users! But overall still an amazing product.

This is the ONLY solution I have found to insert HIGH QUALITY equations into Google Docs. The default equations are lacking... They don't contain vectors or any advanced notation. Any other LATEX generator will produce images, that come out blurry in Google Docs! This add-on somehow adds them in and scales them down to line height, which is otherwise impossible through Google Docs, resizing them will break the magic and scale them back up to normal size. The only remark I have.. Is having two delimiters is not enough. But it's never created problems for me. It's fast, easy, and reliable. Thank you!

I don't like how the sidebar disappears whenever you try to render or derender an equation. The equations also look very grainy when on firefox.

This IS the math addon that Google Docs needs. It also happens to be the math add-on that Google Docs users deserve. I use it all the time teaching high school calculus, and it is an essential tool for my students, who render beautifully legible assignments and reports, and if pursuing higher education in sciences or math, have one less thing to worry about: if they didn't learn calculus, at leas they can typeset math. Thanks to the devs for this wondeful add-on! keep it up!.... (on a side note, I don't understand why software authors insist in avoiding LaTeX in word processing, making horrible, supposedly "easy" equation editors. If someone needs to write something more complex than (a +b) - c = x, surely figuring out LaTeX is not beyond them.)

Very easy to use, and if I don't know latex commands I just click on the url of any generated equation and play with the interactive interface on CodeCogs. Awesome for beginners, and for those looking to set up quick math-based documents without getting into the trouble of setting up LaTeX on their computer

Seems to have broken in the last week. Worst timing as I am constructing an exam formula sheet for my class. Regardless, the app is pretty horrible - the interface is terrible and you have to re-open (Add-ons>Auto-LaTeX) each and every time you want to perform a render or derender. Additionally, if there are any errors displayed when you attempt to perform a render/derender, the error message pops up for a fraction of a second before the entire add-on screen goes white. I had to download a screen recorder, record my session, and pause at the precise moment in playback of the session in order to read the debug statement. Apparently the $$....$$ notation has switched to \[....\] without notice (and, as stated before, is no broken). Won't be trusting this add-on again.
