Terrible in every respect: both the product, as well as the internals of the company, including customer support. We signed up for a free trial about a year ago, in late 2019. Once we were able to test everything out, we upgraded the free trial by obtaining a paid subscription. 1.5 months ago, we ran some tests. That's when we discovered that no Shared Drives had ever been backed up (despite the success during our free trial). The company admitted that they had screwed up. Their only solution was to cancel the current subscription, and to start a fresh one. There was no way to transfer the properly backed up files to the 'fresh subscription'. Result: losing all the files that had been properly backed up. In other words: no way to salvage almost a year of (partial) incremental backups short of downloading every single incremental backup locally. We decided we had had enough. They agreed to provide us with a full refund for all expenses incurred. They said "We have agreed with you that we have messed up on our end and that is why you are receiving your refund which you will get momentarily." Despite this, 15 days later, we were billed again. It is abundantly clear that they are attempting to avoid refunding us. They claim that, due to more than 6 months of refunds being required, the refund cannot occur by credit card. We were therefore asked to fill in a form re our company name and banking information, and how the refund should be effected: ACH, check, or wire. We chose check. 10 days later, we were informed that in order to process the refund, we would need to fill out an IRS W-9 form despite the fact that we are not located in the US and this therefore does not apply to us. 4 days after that, we were told to fill out an IRS w-8BEN-E form, despite that this form does not apply because this is a refund, and not taxable income. One week later, we were told that, due to COVID, checks were not being issued and this, despite that a form to that effect was provided to us and returned exactly 3 weeks earlier. We are now 5+ weeks after they accepted full responsibility and agreed to refund us in full. Out of fairness and transparency, I had warned them in advance that, if the refund had not been completed by yesterday, we would be posting reviews to social media. We will update this review when/if more developments arise. Moral of the story: Stay the hell away. Edit: refund received after 2.5 months, 57 emails, 30 min call, chats, and many forms.

We noticed that about 30% of our employees were not being backed up properly. Initially we'd just asked Backupify if they could fix the back up but were told that sometimes they just couldn't back up google suite apps (like contacts). Despite the fact that it had been months since all of our contacts were backed-up completely we were still getting charged full price every month, so we then asked for a prorated refund since we were paying full price for a product that didn't work properly. What followed was some of the worst customer service I've ever dealt with - because they just stopped responding after the initial conversation. "Support will need to give approvals to have a refund/credit. Please submit this approval if received so we can process this refund/credit." I have written records of multiple emails over months of dealing with this - and not one more response from support or billing. When we later canceled (after finding an easier to use service that - now a few months in - has consistently backed up all needed data) we asked for a prorated refund since we canceled 3 days after the month's start. They asked me to verify the credit card number, which I did, and then they told me they started the refund case. Two days later they responded saying that they do not refund or prorate. If you're a business looking to back up your employee information - stay away from Backupify. It would have saved us so much time, effort, and money had we gone a different route initially.

Although I've been a Backupify customer for years I won't be one for much longer. No response from support, its Twitter account or a DM to a support team member. Hopeless.

Their billing, sales and support staff are borderline incompetent. It took me weeks to do a simple domain change and get my old billing rate changed. Actually, it never happened so I just signed up with Upsafe in like 30 seconds which has not only a better interface but lower prices.

Unreliable and useless. Used it to backup data for 4 years. Now switching all clients across to a different backup system. System cannot backup properly folders with files of mix ownership (95% of companies we work with, are collaborating and sharing, so it is not suitable for them). AVOID BACKUPIFY AT ALL COST! Support is not helpful.

I had used one of their other products to migrate a Google domain and then wanted something to backup all the Drive info. We had a problem where the Sync in Google Drive went haywire and moved a bunch of files to the trash on a computer (not in Gdrive). We got them back but it was a close call. I then added Backupify and it's awesome.

Really all we used this for initial was for full exports of term'd users for archival. But as features have matured it has become a must for ANY Google Apps domain. We have nearly 3TB of data now being backed up and have the freedom of mind that comes with that. End users can easily restore (if you allow). Admins can search/restore/archive - nearly instantly from any account. The new UI is fantastic - if you tried before and gave up, give it another try - the innovations keep coming. This is from an admin who manages 800++ accounts.

Easy, cheap, unbelievable peace of mind - if you're not using this, and just trusting the beneficence of Google, you're making a very uneconomic decision to forgo this cheap insurance.
