Incredible promise, terrible experience. I almost got it working nicely but needed the data feed tweaked a little but never got any help. When you sign up they ask you if there is something in particular you want to do, don't bother telling them, they wont reply. Over the next month and a half I wrote to support 3 times asking how I could do what I was trying to do but never got a reply. When I asked if anyone was reading these emails and explained that I really wanted to get it to work but would have to cancel if I couldn't fix my issue. THIS one got a response within about 2 minutes...someone wrote back that they were cc'ing someone in support ...but... I still never heard back. The next email I got informed me that my subscription was about to go up from $15 to $29 per month. I Canceled. I was so close too! I just needed some help formatting the data and they might have had me for life. Awful experience and they got a couple of months of subscription out of me anyway.

There are too many layers of indirection here and not enough glue in the form of visibility to hold it together for a lay user or even a programmer who just needs it to work without fiddling. The problem is their intermediating an already REST API intermediated data source, and then plugging into a 3rd party app (Excel, Sheets) which intermediates it again. Break something in one layer, get timeouts, etc., and you're way off point in whatever your trying to accomplish. Then there no longer seems to be any support access, and the documentation is scattered at best - largely because there are too many backend APIs to provide sufficient detail, and the toolset is non-programmer friendly, so nobody wants to go figuring out the API. One thought on some of this - it would be great if you could remove the dang thing once you have it installed and get a fresh start, but one thing about the cloudy stuff, it' has a lot of tentacles. Like trying to eradicate a virus. Interesting idea, but it isn't there yet.

We really, really wanted this to work. BlockSpring is not free, it's a subscription for $15/ month. The excuse that Google doesnt allow them to specify that is BS... you could easily just state that in the first sentence of your description, right there in the bold sentence "Do anything..." I'd buy this... if it worked. But it doesnt. The Excel plug-in has problems installing... and once you get it installed, throws errors (shown below). Someone, somewhere got this to work, but we sure can't. We also couldnt get the Google Docs version to work either. There are no Help docs or install docs to help you trouble-shoot. Error for Excel Plugin: The Ribbon/COM Add-in helper required by add-in BlockSpring.ExcelAddIn Add-In could not be registered. This is an unexpected error. Error message: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation.

The product has devolved significantly from the 2015 Youtube demonstration videos; now, after the elimination of certain public APIs, callable functions, and timely tutorials/documentation, the product is more suited for three-fingered individuals with prehensile tails. A tragedy as the 2015 product was truly awesome and immensely capable.

A few years ago I gave it 5 stars, because it was a great add-on for Google Sheets, but the new pricing subscription model is way too expensive - and there's no free plan, so 2 stars for this add-on right now, also because it's not stated in the overview. So please indicate your pricing model clearly in the Add-on overview/description field!

Don't know why this is labelled as free, when it is $15 USD per month. Google please update to 'PAID' app, this is TrialWare, not FreeWare. Thanks.
