bUtils add-on helps to work with documents faster. “Document styles” functions allow you to save 3 custom document styles, and then apply the styles to other documents. “Paragraph utilities” functions add/remove empty paragraphs, apply to paragraphs Wittgenstein format (one sentence per paragraph), and show paragraphs’ and texts’ properties. Functions from the menu “Regexp formatting/insertion” allow you to find text using regular expressions and mark/replace/colour it. “Regexp para styles” functions check text markers at the beginning of paragraphs and apply appropriate paragraph styles. For example, paragraph style Heading 1 will be applied to paragraphs starting with [h1]. Functions from the menu “Table creation / extraction” extract text from tables to form paragraphs, as well as turn paragraphs into tables. “Word Count” functions count words in table cells and paragraphs that aren’t headings. “Writing tools” functions fix common typography issues and mistyped abbreviations (i.e., e.g., et al.), set a red background to mistyped Zotero text citations, double quote characters, and half brackets.
