ChatGPT for Google Sheets™ brings ChatGPT directly to where you work and plan. Ask it to build full spreadsheets, generate insights across tabs and formulas, and update sheets in real time—so projects move forward faster.

ChatGPT appears in a sidebar inside Sheets and helps you build, edit, and understand spreadsheets using natural language.

It supports large, multi-tab workbooks with thousands of cells and references, making it useful for any team that works in spreadsheets—whether you're building a business plan, planning a wedding, or analyzing spending.

Within ChatGPT for Google Sheets™ you can bring in your Apps from ChatGPT, so you can bring in context from Apps like Gmail, Stripe, Sharepoint, and others.

You can also build and upload Skills into ChatGPT for Google Sheets™ for repeated workflows like scenario analysis, a particular formatting style, financial reconciliation, and more.

Beta notes & limitations
ChatGPT for Google Sheets is available globally in beta to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, Edu, and K-12 users. Features and performance may change as we gather feedback, and outputs can be incomplete or incorrect—always review formulas and calculations.

AI can make mistakes, so verify important numbers and claims.

During the beta period:
 - Separate from ChatGPT chat history: Spreadsheet chats operate independently and do not sync with ChatGPT conversations.
 - Review AI actions carefully: ChatGPT can take actions within your spreadsheet. Monitor changes closely to avoid unintended edits. Responses are not financial, legal, or tax advice—use your judgment and consult qualified professionals as needed.
 - Memory is not available.


Privacy and security
 - Data sharing: ChatGPT for Google Sheets respects your ChatGPT data training preferences. Some data—including chats, attachments, and workbook content—may be shared with Google and OpenAI to enable reading and updating your spreadsheets.
 - You can delete or download your data directly from the Add-On via the Settings controls.

Availability
ChatGPT for Google Sheets is available for ChatGPT Pro and Plus users globally. It’s also available for Business, Enterprise, Edu, and K-12 users.

After installing the app, sign in with the OpenAI account associated with your Plus or Pro plan.

How to Use it:
Install the Add-On and then open a new or existing Sheets workbook. Click on the “Extensions” tab, scroll to ChatGPT, and then click “Open”. You should see the Add-On sidebar appear on the right hand side, where you can login with your ChatGPT account and use the service.
