Overview
We offer two solutions for managing response limits in choice options: Form Choice Limiter and Choice Eliminator for Google Forms. Before proceeding, we recommend that you review the differences between these solutions.

If you have very high-volume surveys (more than 1,000 users), first-come-first-served sessions (more than 100 users), limited inventory items with images, need to allow editing responses after submission, want to limit CheckBox Grid or Multiple Choice Grid options, show response counts for each option, or prefer disabling options instead of removing them, you should use the Choice Eliminator for Google Forms add-on. In other cases, Form Choice Limiter is easier to use, as it is a native add-on and does not require additional configuration for Google Forms.

Choice Eliminator for Google Forms is tool built upon Google Forms and offers a wide range of features to help you easily manage large surveys and save time. Once you learn how to configure it, you’ll love it forever, as it extends the features of Google Forms in ways never before available anywhere else.

Below is a detailed comparison of Form Choice Limiter and Choice Eliminator for Google Forms:

- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms uses a custom URL provided by the add-on for accepting responses.
- Form Choice Limiter uses the native Google Forms URL for accepting responses.
- Form Choice Limiter removes choice options after the response choice limit set in the add-on configuration is reached. Respondents will not see choice options that have reached the limit.
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms disables choice limiter options that have reached the limit and do not allow them to be selected. Respondents will see these choice options as disabled items.
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms allows to edit or delete responses after submit. Updating responses automatically recalculates available options limit.
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms allows to easily limit Grid elements like Checkbox Grid and Multiple Choice Grid fields.
- Form Choice Limiter does not show the limit and accepted response count for each choice option in the response form.
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms shows the choice limit and accepted response count for each choice option in the response form. This is useful for first-come-first-served and high-volume surveys, allowing respondents to determine which choice limiter options are available easily and making the survey run smoothly with fewer questions for the survey manager.
- For high-volume surveys with thousands of respondents and several simultaneous responses, Form Choice Limiter may experience overloaded choice options. When several users send responses at the same time, it is possible to exceed the limited choice options by +1 response. For example, a choice option with a limit of 10 could receive 11 responses.
- "Choice Eliminator for Google Forms" is very precise and does not allow choice options to be overloaded, regardless of the number of simultaneous respondents. For example, if you set a limit of 10 for a choice option, you will receive exactly 10 responses.
- Form Choice Limiter does not allow the use of images for choice options. If you run some limited inventory items with images, it is not a good idea to use "Form Choice Limiter."
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms allows the use of images for choice options. If you run some limited inventory items with images, it is the best choice and the only working solution available on the marketplace.
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms does not allow the native user sign-in feature provided by Google Forms; instead, it implements its own sign-in feature.
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms does not allow the native feature of sending respondents a copy of their response provided by Google Forms; instead, it implements its own feature for sending respondents a copy of their response.
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms does not allow the use of the file upload field.
- Choice Eliminator for Google Forms does not allow respondents to edit their responses after submission.

Please refresh the page and wait for 0.5-1 min and then open the add-on menu.
Sometimes Google loads add-ons slowly depending on load and network speed.

DISABLED FEATURES:
1. Allow response editing. Responses can be changed after being submitted.
2. Restrict to users in (your organization name) and its trusted organizations
3. Limit to 1 response. Respondents will be required to sign in to Google. You can enable this setting on the addon configuration.

Difference between Choice Eliminator for Google Forms™ and Form Choice Eliminator:
1. If several users select the same choice and submit the form at the same time you can get 2 responses. For example, your choice limit is 5 and users submit the form choice 4 times. After 2 users submit the choice once, the count in the form will calculate 6 responses but you will set a limit of 5. The Choice Eliminator for Google Forms™ will not let 2 users submit the form at the same time. Before submitting with the Choice Eliminator for Google Forms™ app, check if the option has a limit, if yes then submit.
2. Form Choice Limiter, as well as Choice Eliminator FULL, Choice Limit Choice Limiter, Choice Eliminator Lite, Choice Eliminator 3, and Choice Eliminator 2 – all of which are part of Google apps for work – will remove an option from the list once it reaches the "choice limit." In contrast, Choice Eliminator for Google Forms™ displays all choices in Google Forms™, including those that are crossed out. When a choice reaches its limit, it is crossed out and disabled.
3. Form Choice Limiter will delete the option once it reaches its limit. Choice Eliminator for Google Forms™ will cross out and disable the option if it reaches its limit
4. When you save the configuration, the Choice Eliminator for Google Forms™ synchronizes Google Forms™ responses and configuration responses. For example, if you delete one response in Google Forms™ and click to save the configuration, Choice Eliminator for Google Forms™ will remove this response in the configuration.
5. The Choice Eliminator for Google Forms™ can delete all responses in the Google Forms™. Please be careful, if you click on the “Reset” button all response data will be deleted and you never will recover it. form choice limiter

I coordinated a polling project that gathered over 10,000 responses via Google Forms. With other add-ons, I always worried about technical hiccups at scale, such as the risk of multiple respondents getting the same “last slot” due to update lag. This tool’s design, enforcing limits by disabling instead ofremoving, has meant absolutely zero oversubscription or bugs, even under heavy load. All form option configurations were perfectly preserved as well, regardless of response volume. Truly scalable solution.

Before finding this add-on, I was constantly dealing with overbooked time slots and frustrated participants because Google Forms itself doesn’t provide any way to limit how many times an option can be selected. I tried other “choice eliminator” solutions, but they kept removing options, which wiped out all my custom images and settings. This add-on disables choices and adds a visible red strikethrough as soon as they’re full. Setting different limits for each choice is incredibly convenient. Since switching, I’ve run dozens of sign-up sheets and have never had a single oversubscription problem. My users love seeing real-time updates on what’s left, and I love how worry-free form management has become!

The system of having respondents fill out the form via a secure proxy URL seemed a bit unusual at first, but it’s what enables all these powerful features! The add-on wraps Google Forms in a way that lets it show live option counts, disable filled options instantly, and keep images and settings. It’s seamless for end users, and, as long as you follow the setup instructions and only share the provided responder URL, you’ll be amazed at how well it works. I love the boost it gives to vanilla Google Forms’ capabilities.

I used to lose sleep over the “race condition” problem, worried that several respondents would click submit on the exact same option at nearly the same time and all get let through accidentally. After months using this add-on, I am confident that no overbooking can occur, even if hundreds of people are using the form at the same time. The instant disabling and update process works perfectly. I haven’t had a single duplicate or any need for manual fixing since switching

A huge plus for this add-on is that it keeps all additional configuration on form options intact: images, custom follow-up logic (“go to section based on answer”), and even option-level validations. Every other tool I tried erased my carefully configured images or forced me to redo all my settings, making my forms look unprofessional and breaking critical logic. With this tool, I can confidently build beautiful, custom forms knowing nothing will be lost as mresponses come in. My forms remain polished and fully functional.

Setting up a proxy responder URL was new to me, and I initially ran into an issue because my form was private. The support team responded almost instantly with very clear, step-by-step instructions—in plain language!—about how to make my form public just for responses without exposing anything sensitive. Once I corrected my setup, I’ve never had a problem. The fact that this team understands both technical concerns and user experience really sets them apart from other vendors. Huge thanks!

Allowing users to edit their submissions is a must for many of my applications, but no other add-on handled this gracefully. Here, users can change their answers, and the limits for all affected options are recalculated in real time. That means if a user frees up a spot, it instantly becomes available to others, and if they pick a newly full option, limits are respected automatically. This advanced logic makes it so much more flexible for volunteer rosters, appointment swaps, and any use case where schedules change after initial signup.

I used to get constant questions from respondents about which options were “actually” full, because other tools would just make those options disappear, confusing people. With this add-on, users see strikethroughs and a red highlight as soon as an option’s limit is reached—it’s clear and immediate for everyone filling out the form. This simple but powerful change has resulted in fewer mistakes, less user frustration, and a much more professional feel for all my surveys and registrations. Bravo!

I manage complex volunteer events with different numbers of slots for each task. This add-on’s option-specific limits allowed me to match the actual number of positions available, whether it was one or ten per slot. Participants see which jobs or shifts are full instantly—no guesswork. For repeat events, I just clone my form and update the limits as needed. Advanced features like grid question limits make managing simultaneous task times a breeze. Completely transformed how I coordinate my teams.

Our event required 26 Goggle Forms to sign up for various Harley-Davidson Harley Owners Group "Rockies2Pacific" event rides. Crazy to try and manage each...capacity 30. What a great way to track and close the signups automatically! Very easy to use. Of course, Goggle has it's quirks, but nothing that customer service could not work out! Thank You!!
