Overview
There are three principal benefits to using Cite and Link.

• First, a Judge may or may not be willing to look up your case. By providing a link, you make the Judge’s job easier by providing a direct link.

• Second, the citation you type may have errors. A Judge might look up the incorrect citation you provided, and give up looking for your case. By automating a citation link, you can easily double-check your work to see that the correct case is linked. You wouldn’t use a word processor without spell check, so don’t use a word processor without automated citations.

• Third, the Appellate Division, Second Judicial Department requires every brief to include links to the text online. By automating this test, you can save man hours or avoid paying for an appellate printer to do this task.
