A tool for schools to take student attendance when remote learning!
*Update: 8/24/20 fixed timezone in response sheet and tracker for accurate time of student submission of attendance. 
Changed the ID Number question to reflect NYCDOE student OSIS number (includes validation of id number as number between 199999999 and 300000000)

This is a tool that was developed because of the need to take student attendance during Remote Learning of the COVID-19 Pandemic.  This is a tool that will allow you to automatically create an attendance tracker, create daily attendance forms for the days that you would like to capture daily attendance, schedule announcements in a Google Classroom class from your choice.  When  the tool is functioning, using Google Classroom students will get an announcement at 8:00am on the date that the form was created for.  Students will have one choice to mark their attendance, and the forms used to collect attendance will capture student g-suite accounts, then using a series of importrange and vlookup formulas you will be able to have a running list with percentages of who is present or who is absent from remote learning!

I am trying to create a register for 31 children for 4 days. I get to step 4 but is just keeps spinning. II have checked that I am listed as the teacher but it just isn't working.

We have found that if there are duplicate dates the script will not run. This is something that is easy to check / fix.

You have to make sure that you are listed as a teacher in a google classroom class. Otherwise the script will not finish and lead to an error. Also make sure there are no duplicate dates listed, that will also create an error and prevent the script from finishing

You will be working from the links tab. If you would like to add new dates, just add them to bottom of column A of the links tab. Then you will be able to open the sidebar, and make attendance tracker again. Just make sure that you are using the same method for identifying students, Email or OSIS. hope this helps!

Good afternoon, I'm attempting to use this with our distance education we are doing. It seems like it would be a great tool but it never loads. I've submitted all the data as I was supposed to and did what some did in previous comments. Though, it still doesn't work.
