This add-on is essential to those who use Google's Gmail to utilize email for purposes of filing communications in Clio. That said, the add-on could be greatly improved by providing users with more organizational options on the Clio side. It is great (often slow but far better than going without) for filing messages in a Clio Matter from within one's Gmail account, but the add-on fails to clearly and intuitively link specific attachments to specific emails. I am often lost when trying to pair up a given attachment to a specific email message, something that, to me, is absolutely essential in order to take full benefit of the add-on. Admittedly, the issue is more likely a Clio problem and not a fault in Google's Gmail. Which is today that Clio should pay a lot more attention to this Google Extension and update/improve it as is badly overdue. The complaints about earlier updates is wrong and the Clio for Gmail add on extension does work. But yea, kgt could be much more useful to the large pool of subscribers like me who use Gmail and Clio. For instance, the description overview reads as if it works to collect gmail to a specific contact, BUT the fact is that unless the email(s) are from someone associated with an existing matter as found from the Clio Gmail extension, there appears to be no way to save it to the Clio Contact...but somehow I managed to do just that but have no idea how it worked! C'mon Clio developers! You can do a lot better than what we have thus far...

Extension is a little buggy and has usability issues. I suggest first that extension have a feedback feature on it's menu to correct the problems quickly. 1st Issue is that the matters populated in the quick list are rarely applicable to the email thread. You can search a matter quickly and select it but the action to log the email actually occurs below the fold so it leaves us wondering when and what happened or what is happening. 2nd Major issues is because of the first issue the email gets logged to the wrong matter. I went into Clio and deleted the email. However the extension still remembers it logged it to the "wrong matter" and provides no mechanism to undo or correct this tagging. So now the email cannot get logged. I suggest that the logging status of the email be condensed to a single icon with a hover tip or single row at the top of the slide out. Color code that 'status' line to let us quickly know how and where the email has been processed. Provide a mechanism to fix the error even if it's a pop up instructing us to "go to matter XXXX and delete the correspondence. A new entry has been placed in matter YYYYY".

Why do you keep changing it?!?! Now I can't bill my hours as I could before. Previously I could log my emails and input time all from my gmail. Now I can only add the emails, but have to go to CLIO and log to time because there is no option to log in gmail through the extension. Also, know instead of showing a very brief overview of the emails in the extension, it shows the entire email all forwards, responses the whole thing. The update is completely terrible, please put it back the way it was.

I no longer have the ability to link to any matters. I'm able to search and find the matter - but when I click through, it can no longer be found and I can't log any emails. Very disappointed!

This is great when it works, but it usually doesn't. It keeps listing the same three matters that it thinks are associated with the email thread I have open. Search functionality does not work--regardless of whether I search by name or number. Very frustrating!

Stinks - slow, and is not an advantage in any respect. It functions poorly in terms of moving attachments. Using it has been a setback. I won't continue with integration until Clio offers an email server that is integrated. That it does not offer this service greatly reduces the value of the service.

Long time Clio user who uses Google's suite of products. This extension could be decent if Clio put work into it instead of useless features no one uses. First, this extension does not have a setting to ignore small files within email signature blocks. You will end up with attachments folders' cluttered with 0kb files of little images that are useless. While you can stop the images from appearing in gmail which presumably would prevent Clio extension from sweeping them in, it shouldn't require that. Also, the extension is slow. Outlook version faster. Next, why doesn't the extension use some "AI" to "predict" which matters the emails should be logged to? Quickbooks does this for transactions. Don't tell me it's about "privacy" and sanctity of communications not wanting to "read" our emails. I will gladly support a computer to make my life easier. Also, once you've saved attachments from an email thread, and if another attachment becomes part of that email thread, it should have option to save that automatically to same place as before. It's very very slow to add things, which makes it impossible to use. So many ways to make this attachment - and Clio - useful. Instead they only care about expanding to more and more firms. It is like a useless swiss army knife and trying to use it to write - there's a pen! - a bottle opener - a spork and some other useless tools. Real campers - and lawyers - need practice specific tools not one size fits all. You may wonder why I use Clio if I am unhappy. I have not found an alternative that does more of the things I am looking for sadly but will keep looking.
