Very good and simple system. How it works...
1. Gather your recipients list on any Google Spreadsheet. Make sure you store mobile numbers with their country code... e.g. +447123456789 (see hint below). In this way you can send messages to mobiles with different country codes with complete ease.
2. When cloudcom is installed, it appears in the Addons section of Google Sheets, highlight the mobile numbers to receive the text then select the Cloudcom addon
3. A pop up window appears where you can edit the message. You can either send the message straight away or schedule to send it later
4. When the message is ready to send, it costs "1 credit" per person per message (longer messages may consume more credits as SMS messages have a character limit)
5. You can access the Cloudcom control panel (it directs to their website where you can log in with your Google account). From here you can top up (€10.00 for 200 credits is the starting option, higher options apply that give better value for money) - this does not include VAT so in the UK it costs €12.00 for 200 credits. Payment achieved using STRIPE, a secure service which manages payment and converts the cost to your own currency.
Also from the control panel you can edit the Sender Name (e.g. instead of CLOUDCOM you can have a personalised Sender Name when the text appears in receiver's inboxes - this could include a company name but you cannot use spaces and there is a character limit). You can also view your message history and cancel scheduled messages. Finally, you can create teams with other Google accounts so that you have a "Team Piggy Bank" of credits which can be used to send text messages (as far as I am aware, you have to top up this team account separately, you cannot transfer credits from your personal account)
New users get some Sample credits... try sending a message to yourself to decide if you like the App!
IMPORTANT HINT: When you type your mobile numbers in the spreadsheet, typing +447123456789 can cause the plus sign to disappear (because the cell is treated as a number, not text), so you need to start all your numbers with an apostrophe e.g. '+448123456789 - the apostrophe will not show when you complete the number but the plus sign will stay.
