I like this editor. Key bindings are similar to VS Code. The only missing feature I could not find yet is the line wrapping. Alt+Z doesn't seem working currently. All other it is great editor.

Amazing my daily simple text editor, slim look like terminal. Perfect minimalist use case to just preview/edit text files. Just would love i could open many more file extensions, that are plain text but for some reason google drive dont suggest Commanditor on the Open With. The ability to open any file extension would make this 7 stars.

Mozilla Firefox 105.0.1 (64-bit): после установки приложения и повторной авторизации при его запуске при открытии документа появляется сообщение об ошибке "Something went wrong. Sorry, something went wrong there. Please try again" и "Подтверждение не отправлено. Произошла ошибка. Повторите попытку". Учетных записей в Google несколько, если это имеет значение. После добавления (через Google Chrome) не отображается в доступных приложениях для гуглодокументов.

All the frustration of vim with many (perhaps all?) its features. Looking through the F1 Command Palette made the critical difference between a one-star and a three-star review. I did not discover the Command Pallete until I studied the screenshots which are doing double duty as the help section of the application. I guess the feature set is based on the Monaco editor that ships with Visual Studio, but I can't be sure as I have more experience with programming for Linux platforms where vi* is universal and many other popular editors are common. Whatever the case may be, the interface idiom violates the modal interface that makes vi* easier (easyish?) to understand what's going on. Maybe those familiar with Monaco can comment on how well it adheres to the norms of that editor. A second major complaint I have is the general lack of UI feedback. (e.g. How do I know my file saved when I hit Ctrl-S? How can I be sure which Syntax Highlighting is activated?) How Syntax Highlighting appears to work (undocumented feature) In spite of what some earlier posters indicated about the files requiring a txt extension to be opened, it appears that Syntax Highlighting now defaults off the file extension. You can change that setting with the Change Language Mode command. (Helpfully, opening that command lets you know what languages are supported, but once again help documentation would be a serious boon! Maybe the Syntax Highlighting is riding off an external API, but that API should have a way to list the supported languages too.) The last thing I noticed is that it simply refuses to open files with the shell extension (.sh). This is a special case I found where you have to add the txt extension to the filename. I guess that is supposed to neuter it somehow to prevent execution? I guess that's ok, but maybe there's better ways to prevent code execution inside Drive. Overall, I'm happy to have a text editor for Drive that is both lightweight and supports code highlighting and folding, but there's room for improvement too.

When I try to open a Python file, I do not see anything but an empty file. There should be something that tells users how to use it because I must not be doing something right.

I love this extension. Now I can edit my .txt files in google Drive. I use it daily, and I really recommend it. I haven´t had issues with it so far. In the future it be helpful to add: - Autosave feature (so you don´t have to Ctrl+S to save) - Enable word wrap (so long lines not entering on screen are rendered on a new line) - Enable mouse wheel to scroll the page

I also wanted a simple replacement for Drive Notepad when it stopped working with an 'authorization required' error. Commanditor does this well. However, it is irritating that it won't open files unless they have a Google file type of 'text' and an extension that Commanditor recognises, e.g. '.txt'. The work around is to ensure files are uploaded with a .txt extension to get the file type 'text'. Files can then be renamed as required. But to edit the file one must rename the file to re-add the '.txt' extension! If there is a better way, please advise ;-)

Nice app. I too will use this as a replacement for the Drive Notepad app. Having issue with multiple Google accounts logged in during a single browser session. Only the first account was able to authorize the app, the other accounts just show a blank screen with no pop-up to auth and therefore cannot be used at all.

In general I love this app. It's made it much faster for me to write scripts for whatever I'm working on, and it's nice to have stuff stored in my drive. Something to watch for is that it doesn't save 100% of the time you hit Ctrl+s or use the right click menu to save. Make sure to check your drive to see the last time your document was edited. If it won't save, just copy, refresh, the paste and save again.
