Google Sheets™ keeps comments somewhere you cannot sort them, count them, or get
them out. If you are running a review cycle across a large workbook, there is no
way to answer "how many are still open" or "which ones are on the forecast tab"
without opening them one at a time.
This puts them all in a tab.
Press one button and Comment Export writes a sheet called Comment Export into your
spreadsheet, with one row per comment thread:
Sheet · Cell · Status · Author · Date · Comment · Replies · Reply thread
It arrives with a filter already on and the header frozen, so you can sort by tab,
filter to open threads, or work down the list in the order the comments appear in
the spreadsheet. From there it is ordinary spreadsheet data: pivot it, share it,
download it as CSV, or paste it into a status update.
WHO IT IS FOR
Anyone whose review process happens in the comments. Finance teams closing a
budget, analysts working through data QA, ops teams running a planning cycle.
PRIVACY
The add-on has no server. Access is granted one file at a time, so it never asks
for permission to your Drive. Your comments go from your spreadsheet, through
Google's own infrastructure, back into your spreadsheet, and nowhere else. There
is no analytics, no account and no data retention. Full detail at

GOOD TO KNOW
· It reads comments. Notes are a different Sheets™ feature and do not appear.
· Running it again refreshes the tab in place.
· Google caps the export it relies on at 10MB, so very large workbooks may not
run. You get a clear message rather than a silent failure.
Free.
