MIXED BLESSING - this removed both headers and footers effectively, but also meant that I couldnt have a page number on the document. Which is pretty vital. I've had this problem a couple of times when editing GDocs converted from MS Word. The only solution is to copy the text and paste to a clean file (tho that wont pick up any comments).

Thank, Jacob! Been using your wonderful script. I was just about to just go ahead and make it an add-on, with a link to your thread post as part of the description, then saw that you already made the Add-On. Funny, because a search for "header" in the add-on store didn't come up with a match. Huh.

Seems impossible to remove headers/footers from a Google Doc, but this man has made it possible in the simplest user-friendly way possible. Thank you!
