Firstly, the permissions that this addon requires are very excessive. It shouldn't need to have permissions to touch anywhere outside the current document. Secondly, all it can do [for free] is insert an equation rendered as a picture. The equation then can't be edited or reverted to LaTeX, it's an image forever. There are multiple tools in the menu that say "re-render" or "de-render" but those do nothing. It's also unable to parse an existing document, you have to use the UI to enter each new equation individually.

OK, this is awesome. I've been on the fence about jumping into Latex, however want the versatility and UI of Google Docs. This ads the versatility/functionality of Latex to Google Docs, and more importantly allows the Latex backend to do the print export. It just looks great! This is my new favorite add on, and will help my university thesis!

A nice app, thank you. However, DO NOT USE THIS FOR DOCUMENTS WITH MANY FIGURES. Although this is the least clunky and buggy cross-referencing app I have found, once you get to 30 or 40 figures it takes FIVE MINUTES to add a new referenced caption. Presumably this time will only get longer.

Paid for '1 credit' worth of conversions. Errored out and couldn't convert. It's a simple doc.

Terrible. Almost lost my document because of this useless add-on. Keep looking for a better solution.

This is an impressive add-on but I'm about to uninstall it because I'm not willing to let it read and delete all my Google Drive files! It should suffice to access the current doc.

Gotta say, I love this add-on. I use it with F1000, F1000 for references and this for LaTeX and cross-referencing my tables and figures. Honestly, just being able to caption the figures is a huge bonus. There ARE a few hiccups, such as directly editing on the caption once you've already made it (click the caption, click 'change' and edit it there) and figures not appearing the in C-ref list if they're not 'in-line' with the text, but these are super easy and simple fixes and have not caused any annoyance other than the 15 seconds to discover it the first time. Of all the add-ons I have, this is legitimately the most useful one that has directly positively impacted my ease of writing. Cudos for the great app!

I give this 5 stars because frankly none of the other Latex add on's even comes close to this products capabilities. At a minimum this is one of the best ways to obtain the ability to reference figures, tables and yes even equations (via an inserted latex \ref command). Just keep in mind to get all that functionality you will have to convert your google docs document into a pdf via latex. There is no other way to do it. Google docs on it's own is too weak and pathetic to support a proper scientific or technical paper. It doesn't do cross references. It's citation and bibliography capabilities are weak and it doesn't do numbered figures, equations or numbered tables, let alone numbered headers and Sections. For that you need Latex, and this product provides an end run around the poorly thought out Google docs.

LaTeX export is behind a paywall which is not visible on any of the provided screenshots! Just wanted to try whether it is actually helpful to use this addon for a small project. Now I will manually typeset the article. You could at least give a tiny amount of credits to test everything instead of charging immediately.
