A spreadsheet that knows what's deductible.

If you work for yourself, every untracked expense is money you hand to the IRS in April. Expense Tracker turns a Google Sheets™ spreadsheet into a system that keeps you tax-ready all year. You enter your expenses. It figures out the rest.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Run Set Up once. It builds your Expense Log, Tax Summary, and Settings tabs.
2. Log expenses from the sidebar, or type them straight into the sheet. Pick a category. The deductible amount, percentage, and tax form fill in on their own.
3. Log business miles quickly. The deduction is calculated for you.
4. Run an Expense Checkup anytime. The checkup scans every entry and tells you what needs fixing, with a simple fix for each.

• 24 built-in expense categories, from software subscriptions to home office to meals, each with the right deduction rules attached
• The math on partial deductions — pick Meals and the 50% rule applies itself
• Mileage at the IRS standard rate, updatable each January in Settings

WORKS THE WAY YOU ALREADY WORK

Type directly into the sheet, paste rows in from another spreadsheet, or use the dialogs. The tax columns fill in either way. Sorting is safe. Start a fresh sheet each January and the whole year stays clean.

YOUR DATA STAYS IN YOUR GOOGLE ACCOUNT

Expense Tracker only accesses the spreadsheet it is installed in. It has no access to your other files, your email, or your Google Drive™ storage. Nothing is sent to external servers, ever. There is no account to create and nothing to sync. The one unusual permission it asks for — "run when you are not present" — is Google's standard wording for the small trigger that fills in the deduction columns when you edit your sheet. The add-on runs only on your expense spreadsheet and touches nothing else.
