🐱 I'm actively looking for feedback as this is an early version of the add-on. Please contact me on https://forecastsheets.com/support or via LinkedIn https://linkedin.com/in/mihailmarian ForecastSheets is a Google Sheets add-on which you can use to quickly generate predictions on time series data that you have inside a Google Sheets spreadsheet. 😻 Why use this add-on? Let's say you have a time series dataset in a Google Sheets spreadsheet. And this dataset has some seasonality - monthly, annual, or maybe of another frequency. There's currently no easy way to generate reliable estimates on that data. Existing solutions out there don't work well with seasonal trends. So you have to export the dataset to another application, which is very time consuming! That's where ForecastSheets comes in. Within 3 minutes, you can make accurate forecasts directly in the spreadsheet. 🐈⬛ How does it work? Follow these steps: - Install the ForecastSheets add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace. - Go to your Google Sheets spreadsheet that has the time series data, and open up the add-on from the Extensions menu - Select the range of cells that contain the time series data, the range of cells where you want the projections to be generated, and the number of data points in a season - In less than a minute, the extension will send the data to our predictive algorithm and render the results in your spreadsheet The predictive algorithm is based on the Holt-Winters exponential smoothing method, with an additive trend component and an additive seasonal component. 🙀 Who made it? Hi there! My name is Mihail Marian and I'm a software engineer based in Milton Keynes, UK. I came up with the idea after a friend of mine asked me to create a forecast for some time series data that he had in Google Sheets. I thought "how hard can it be?", so I said yes. And then I spent a whole week trying to figure out how to do it 😿 I sat on the idea for more than a year; I was working on other projects. None of them were successful, so here I am (° ー °〃)
