⏱️ Set a time limit
Anything from 10 seconds to 24 hours. Pick it in the Google Forms™ sidebar you already use, press Sync, and the live link is timed.

▶️ Respondents press Start
Before the clock runs, respondents see how long they have and what happens at zero. Nobody loses time to a slow page load or a page they opened by accident. No Google sign-in, no consent screen and no browser extension for your students.

⏳ A countdown they cannot miss
The remaining time stays on screen while they answer and turns red in the last minute. The clock runs on Skyfield's servers, not in the browser, so a refresh, a closed tab or a changed device clock does not add a second.

🔒 Auto-submit or lock at zero
Choose what happens when time is up. Auto-submit sends whatever is filled in, so partial work is never lost. Lock closes the form and shows the message you wrote. Either way, nobody gets extra time.

👤 One attempt per person
Turn it on and each respondent signs in with Google once and gets a single clock. A reload resumes the same attempt; it never starts a new one. When someone has a problem, reset their attempt in one click from the Timer tab and they can start again.

👀 Focus record
See how many times a respondent left the page and for how long, beside their answers. Disclosed on the Start screen, so respondents know before they begin. No camera, no screen recording, no extension.

📊 Time taken, in your responses
Each response carries when the clock started, when it was submitted and how long it took. Sort by it, filter on it, or export everything as CSV from your dashboard.

📝 Full support for quizzes
Turn on "Make this a quiz" in Google Forms™ and every response is graded automatically. Scores land in your dashboard, CSV and connected Sheet, and you choose what respondents see after submitting: their total score, the questions they missed, the correct answers or the points per question.

🔗 One live link to share
Your form is published at a link you can copy, open or hand out as a QR code. You keep building and editing in Google Forms™ exactly as before; open the sidebar or press Sync and your questions are copied across.

📄 Multi-page forms, sections and routing
Sections become pages, "go to section based on answer" routing is respected, and the timer keeps running across every page.

🔁 Your original form, handled for you
Answers sent through the original Google Forms™ link are not timed, so the add-on offers once to close the original and point everyone at the live link. You can decline, and pausing the add-on reopens a form we closed.

GOOD TO KNOW
- Respondents answer at the live link, not the Google Forms™ link.
- The questions and settings of the hosted copy, and the timer sessions, are stored on Skyfield's servers so the live link can enforce the limit. What is stored, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy.
- The focus record is reported by the respondent's browser and can be circumvented; it is a record, not a lock. Form Timer does not proctor by camera or screen.
- Running two form-closing add-ons on the same form is not supported. If Form Limiter or Form Scheduler already opens or closes this form, leave the original open.
- Quiz scores are kept in your Skyfield dashboard, CSV and connected Sheet. They are not written to the Google Forms™ Responses tab or to Google Classroom.
