There is a free Form Maker but it does not do short answer questions. This is far more comprehensive and supported but not free. It is, I think, 30USD a year for individuals and 99 USD a year for a school. 30 USD is quite a lot to me bearing in mind that I generally use Moodle for quizzes so I think I will only be using it today. No. It seems that there is no way of setting the correct answer for short answer questions (the correct answer is instead added to feedback). I am not sure if this is a limitation of google forms quizzes but since an automated way of setting up short answer questions with answers is what I want, I don't think that this is for me.

What a great tool to use to turn old docs into forms and quizzes in Drive! It took a few minutes to figure out but I liked that I could choose the type of questions and if they're check boxes, paragraph answer etc. I'll definitely be using this in the future.

I am working on a self- marking quiz for the Dept of Motor Vehicle test and stumbled upon Form&Quiz Maker. I Installed with no hitch. Then went to Google Docs and there it was under Add-ons. It opened with no problems and i watched the 6 min video to get the sense of the program. So far, so good. Tomorrow I will import the first driving test and do the Form&Quiz for the multiple choice quiz. Thank you

This is a great way to make quizzes and forms for students. I liked that you could choose the question type and you could take information from a Google Doc. This will be a quick and easy way to assess students.

Form&Quiz Maker does allow for an easy creation of a Form from a Doc; however, this is not a free addon. You have 10 days to explore and then you will have to pick a yearly plan.
