Overview
Agile Project Management

The agile model is a process model which is used for software development. The key point for the agile model is that the project is split into "sprints", and key features are prioritized for each sprint. Each sprint allows only for selected features to be made and the sprint can last for a few weeks to a few months. The main benefit of using the "sprint" model is it allows for user requirements to be changed based on market conditions/new environment which causes the previous user requirements to be redundant. The phases for agile project management include

- Requirements Gathering
- Designing System
- Implementation
- Unit Testing & Deployment

The main difference between the waterfall model and the agile model is each "phase" has a fixed amount of time. Even if the deliverables have not been completed by the end, the sprint will end and a new sprint will start. The features which are overdue might be taken out of the deliverables as the estimation was inaccurate/it is not as important as before etc.

The main benefit to using an agile model is it allows for user requirements to change and the software development plan can change according to
market forces.

Downsides to Agile Model

- Features might take longer then waterfall model as user requirements may change from time to time
- Sprints may be inefficient for large projects where project timelines are measured in years

Our software allows you make use of the agile model for your own project. All you have to do is write down the user requirements for your project, divide it up into appropriate sprints and then place the KPI's/Deliverables into the correct section. We have made a few examples of how to use an agile model for some sample software projects.
