Genderize.io for Google Sheets™ predicts gender from names, right in your spreadsheet.

Select a column of first names or full names. The add-on fills in the predicted gender and a probability next to each name.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Open Extensions, then Genderize.io for Google Sheets™, then Predict gender (sidebar).
2. Paste your genderize.io API key. You can get a free key at genderize.io.
3. Pick the names column and click Fill column.
4. Gender and probability appear next to each name. The sidebar also counts the results for the whole list, for example "412 names: 58% female, 39% male, 3% unknown".

Big lists are fine. The add-on sends up to 100 names per request and shows its progress. If a run is cut short, it keeps what it has. Click Fill column again and it carries on with the rows that are still empty.

PREFER FORMULAS?
=GENDERIZE(A2:A500, , $Z$1) fills gender and probability for a whole range, with your API key in Z1.
Count the results like any other column, for example =COUNTIF(B2:B500, "female").

COUNTRY CODES
Some names lean differently from country to country. Add a two-letter country code for sharper results. Set a default country, pick a country column, or pass it to the formula: =GENDERIZE(A2:A500, "US", $Z$1).

PRIVACY
- Works only in the spreadsheet you open it in. It cannot see your other files.
- Sends data only to api.genderize.io. The add-on is locked to that one address.
- Your API key is stored in your own Google account's add-on settings.
