Handwriting OCR turns handwritten notes, historical records, forms and scanned PDFs into editable, searchable files — without leaving Google Drive™ or Gmail™.

Select a scanned PDF or image in Google Drive™, or open an email with an attachment in Gmail™, then choose what you want back:

• Transcribe — handwriting and printed text converted to a Google Docs™ file
• Translate — transcribe and translate into any of 25 languages
• Tables — extract tabular data straight into a Google Sheets™ file
• Extractors — pull named fields into structured rows using your own templates

The result is written to your Google Drive™ automatically, next to the file you started from, in whichever format you chose: Google Docs™, Google Sheets™, Word, Excel, CSV, plain text or JSON. No copying and pasting, and no downloading files just to upload them somewhere else.

Handwriting OCR reads the cursive, messy and historical handwriting that general-purpose OCR fails on, and handles multi-page documents, mixed handwriting and print, and low-quality scans.

PRIVACY

This add-on only accesses files you explicitly select. It cannot browse, search or read your Google Drive™, and it only sees an attachment on a message you have open and chosen to process. Documents are processed on our servers and can be set to auto-delete. See handwritingocr.com/privacy.
