Img to Docs allows you to quickly and easily convert images to text within a Google Doc. Simply drag and drop your image or click to upload and watch as Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is automatically applied to extract your text. Next, you can make quick edits in the preview box, before hitting the "Insert" button to insert your text into a doc. Supports PNG, JPG, BMP, and PMB files - perfect for quick notetaking from screenshots.

Terrible. Put in a handwritten document from 1834 in legible English script ... returned utter gibberish.

Recognizes only a handful of characters from a black and white image with sanserif text. The rest is gibberish. The OCR is awful.

Didn't work. The result was random letters by about 80% vs 20% success on png files I tested. I do point out that unlike a b/w page scan my graphics are stock charts lists with ribbon [alternating backgrounds] Otherwise the graphic content if very clear and organized

The fact that Google is working on an AI should concern anyone that has used this. Based on the quality of this tool I can only assume that the Bard AI will become sentient in millions of years when humanity has long since died out. Excellent work here. I am truly stunned that anyone tested this and thought that we needed to waste our time trying to get it to work.

I was seeking an image to text option (for computer) that was comparable to the 'grab image text' function available via google keep (from mobile). Using Img to Docs was a very inferior option. Img to Docs returned highly inaccurate results that required lots of editing just to be legible.
