Does not connect to QuickBooks and needs no QuickBooks account: it works on the data in your sheet. Import Cleaner for QuickBooks™ knows what a QuickBooks Online (UK) file is. It works in both directions: it checks a sheet against QuickBooks' import rules before you upload it, so the import does not fail or load the wrong thing, and it cleans a file exported from QuickBooks so Google Sheets™ can sort, filter and total it. It covers the bank statement CSV (3 and 4 column), the customers and suppliers file and the journal entries file for import, and the transaction report export. CHECK BEFORE UPLOADING Pick the sheet you are about to import into QuickBooks and the add-on checks it against QuickBooks' rules for that file type: • Zeros in Amount, Credit or Debit that must be left blank • A day of the week attached to a date, split into its own column • Dates that are not in dd/mm/yyyy, and dates that read two ways • Credit and Debit headings that are not the ones QuickBooks expects • Currency symbols, thousands separators and comma decimals in amounts • Stray spaces, including in cells that look blank • Files over the row or size limits for that import • Customers and suppliers: a colon or double quote in a name, the same name twice, headings not in row 1 • Journals that do not balance, and lines missing a journal number, date or account • Line breaks inside cells, and a semicolon-separated file that landed in one column CLEAN A QUICKBOOKS EXPORT Open a QuickBooks export in Google Sheets™ and the add-on finds what stops it working: • Dates stored as text, which will not sort or subtract • Numbers stored as text, which SUM skips • Negatives in brackets, and comma decimal separators • Stray, leading and non-breaking spaces • Debit and Credit in two columns when you need one signed amount • Total rows, report titles and footer lines inside the data NOTHING AMBIGUOUS IS CHANGED SILENTLY A date like 06/03/2026 means 6 March in the UK and June 3 in the US. The add-on asks how your file writes dates, lists every date that could be read either way before anything is written, and shows exactly what each fix will change, cell by cell. A value it cannot read is explained, never rewritten. A guess, such as combining two amount columns, goes into a new column and leaves the original alone. Every fix can be undone. FREE AND PRO Free, with no time limit: the full check in both directions, every explanation, the list of ambiguous values, the space fix and Undo. Pro adds every other fix, saved settings and an exportable report. It starts with a 30-day free trial and needs no card. PRIVACY No spreadsheet content leaves Google. The add-on reads only the spreadsheet it is opened in, and it never connects to QuickBooks. The only things it ever sends are a licence key, an install id and the host name, to check a Pro licence.
