Does not connect to Sage and needs no Sage account: it works on the data in your sheet. Import Cleaner for Sage™ knows what a Sage file is. It works in both directions: it cleans a file exported from Sage so Google Sheets™ can sort, filter and total it, and it checks a sheet against Sage's import rules before you upload it, so the import does not fail or load the wrong thing. It covers the Sage 50 audit trail import and its reports (audit trail, nominal activity, customer and supplier lists), and the Sage Accounting contacts and bank statement imports. CHECK BEFORE UPLOADING Pick the sheet you are about to import into Sage and the add-on checks it against Sage's rules for that file type: • Nominal codes that lost their leading zeros (0010 became 10) • Dates that are not in DD/MM/YYYY, and dates that read two ways • Transaction types Sage 50 will not import, and tax codes outside T0 to T99 • Currency symbols, thousands separators and comma decimals in amounts • Amounts with more digits or decimals than Sage accepts • Text longer than the field it goes into • A blank account reference on a line that needs one, and a blank Exchange Rate on invoices and credit notes • Line breaks and double quotes inside cells • Bank statements with money in and money out in two columns, a missing column, or a column in the wrong order CLEAN A SAGE EXPORT Open a Sage export in Google Sheets™ and the add-on finds what stops it working: • Dates stored as text, which will not sort or subtract • Numbers stored as text, which SUM skips • Negatives in brackets, and comma decimal separators • Nominal codes that lost their leading zeros • Stray, leading and non-breaking spaces • Debit and Credit in two columns when you need one signed amount • Title and total rows inside the data, and report furniture below it NOTHING AMBIGUOUS IS CHANGED SILENTLY A date like 06/03/2026 means 6 March in the UK and June 3 in the US. The add-on asks how your Sage company writes dates, lists every date that could be read either way before anything is written, and shows exactly what each fix will change, cell by cell. A value it cannot read is explained, never rewritten. A guess, such as combining two amount columns, goes into a new column and leaves the original alone. Every fix can be undone. FREE AND PRO Free, with no time limit: the full check in both directions, every explanation, the list of ambiguous values, the space fix and Undo. Pro adds every other fix, saved settings and an exportable report. It starts with a 30-day free trial and needs no card. PRIVACY No spreadsheet content leaves Google. The add-on reads only the spreadsheet it is opened in. The only things it ever sends are a licence key, an install id and the host name, to check a Pro licence.
