The reminders is OK, however you should be able to make it stay at the top of you inbox emails so you don't have to actually hunt for it daily. It won't be a good reminder if it's on the 2nd page of your emails.

The idea is to keep the Inbox almost empty, with only the items you are working on there. The rest is supposed to be Snoozed to a later date, i.e. shown when they become relevant. The Snooze makes sure the reminder is shown at the top then.
