Overview
Make documents and presentations that work for everyone, including people who use screen readers. Kayabyte Accessibility Checker checks Google Docs™ and Google Slides™ for common problems, based on WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria, shows you each problem, and fixes the ones that are safe to fix with one click.

What it checks
- Images and charts without alt text, or with a file name as alt text
- Missing, skipped or empty headings, and bold text that looks like a heading but is not one
- Text color contrast below 4.5:1 (3:1 for large text)
- Lists typed by hand, tables without headers or with merged cells, layout tables
- Link text such as "click here" or long web addresses
- Slides without titles, duplicate titles, titles that are not read first, a reminder to check captions on videos
- Document language and title, very small text, empty lines and spaces used for layout

Fix it in place
- Click Show to jump to each problem. Save alt text, fix heading levels (whole sections move together), change a color to the nearest one that passes, turn typed lines into a real list, add slide titles and more.
- Every fix checks that the document has not changed since the check, and can be undone with Edit › Undo.

Tagged PDF
- Export a document from Google Docs™ as a tagged PDF with title, language, metadata, link descriptions, table header cells, correct list structure and decoration marked as artifacts, prepared for PDF/UA-1. The pages look exactly the same. If something must still be fixed in the document, the add-on tells you what.

Plans
- Free: all checks, one-by-one fixes and 3 tagged PDFs a month.
- Pro: Fix all and unlimited tagged PDFs. $6 per user per month or $60 per user per year, with a 14-day free trial; $990 per year for a whole school, district or organization (up to 1,000 accounts on your domain). Prices include VAT or sales tax where it applies.

Automatic checks find many problems, not all. Use the add-on together with a screen reader review before you publish. Using it does not by itself make a document or PDF compliant with the ADA, Section 508, EN 301 549, WCAG or PDF/UA.

Privacy
Checks, fixes and PDF export run inside Google Apps Script™ in your own account. Document content is never sent to Kayabyte. Our licence service sees your email address to check your plan.
