A New Way to Give Writing Feedback
LevelUp was created by teachers who wanted a better way to provide students with meaningful writing feedback using generative AI. Unlike traditional editing tools that suggest fixes, LevelUp guides students through the revision process by offering one specific improvement task at a time based on a selected rubric. This approach encourages critical thinking and personal expression, helping students refine their writing without simply handing them the answer. LevelUp integrates seamlessly within Google Docs, ensuring that all edits, feedback, and student progress remain in one place.
Designed for Student Engagement and Growth
LevelUp keeps students actively involved in their learning. Rather than just accepting feedback, students are prompted to explain why they choose to make certain improvements, fostering self-reflection and deeper learning. Feedback is personalized based on their individual writing goals. A score tracker helps students see their progress over time, an automated writing journal stores reflections and feedback history, and reflection prompts encourage them to think critically about their revisions.

Privacy and AI Technology
LevelUp prioritizes student privacy. LevelUp does not store student’s writing—everything remains within the student’s Google Drive in their LevelUp folder. To deliver high-quality AI-powered feedback, LevelUp uses a custom-built OpenRouter.ai to source Generative AI responses.

We send these 3rd party generativeAI tools your student’s written papers and revisions, and no other identifying information.
To maintain privacy and security, students should avoid including personally identifiable information in their essays, as third-party AI providers may store data in ways that cannot be fully controlled by LevelUp.
