It doesn't show up in my Google Chrome Extensions list, But it does show up from within Google Drive as a connected app. When I tried to open a pre-existing Markdown file in my Google Drive Cloud storage, it worked just fine. As others have mentioned, Google Drive is cold storage. It does not offer processing power to run the software necessary to open a document. To open a document out of cold storage, there are only 2 options. 1) Download the document to your own device that has the necessary compute power to run the software necessary to read/open the document. (or) 2) Request permission to download your document to someone else's computer that temporarily allows you to use there compute power to run the software necessary to open/read the document. Then go on the internet, connect to their server, and request to view/read your document that is open and running on their software, using their electricity. Seems like a decent program. It is nice that it displays both markdown and html is a split screen viewer.

Works fine and permissions seem reasonable, but I'm uncomfortable that it opens my file for editing on its domain, rather than Google's (is this normal)? Also, dark mode would be nice.

It's a null app. Can't launch. Shows that it's installed under "manage apps", but clicking on it does nothing. Doesn't appear in apps menu as the install process suggests. Why is this still in the Google Marketplace?

Can only save to local drive (Downloads), the I have to copy from my local drive to Google Drive. I am just going to stick with VSCode and a plug for now.

I use it to on the fly view my *.md files produced by my vimwiki editing with my vim in my local machine. I sync'ed my vimwiki folder using Google Drive desktop app so that I can also backup my *.md files on the google drive cloud. The app can view and edit the *.md files using Chrome browser. The app currently worked when I try to edit one of my *.md files in the browser, manually saved it to Google Drive, and it sync'ed to my local folder with GD desktop app. Thanks. (date: 07/20/2021)

'Viewer' refers to having a live preview window that opens alongside the editing window. Format-style buttons along the top, if you need them. You can dismiss the preview with the Eye Icon to be in full Editing mode, or, you can click the Screen button to get a full Viewing mode, so it should be useful for viewing once you set up for that. Otherwise, perfectly good for all the edits (and previewing) I had to do. There will be a google ad on the side. Heroku app.
