How it works:

You sign in to the Microsoft Teams Meeting add-on with your Microsoft work or school account. Go to your Google Workspace calendar to schedule a meeting, and then specify that it’s a Microsoft Teams meeting. Invite anyone with an email address. Your invitees will get an invitation with a couple of ways to join the meeting: a link to join the meeting, as well as information about how to dial in via phone if they need to.

I can't say I'm surprised - both MS and Google have never worked well together. Reason is probably because the coding is done in some cheap sweatshop somewhere by both of these behemoths. But the upshot is I cant meet my customers where they want me to and the calendars dont sync so I have to watch the Teams calendar for invites and the Google calendar as well.

27 April 2023: Work Account. Admin Install completed. Very Slow. Barely works in Google Calendar (very slow, 10-30 second waiting time to add an MS Teams meeting as the meeting method - which is really weird). Does not synch my MS Teams Meeting with the calendar in MS Teams App (latest paid version, school and work version). Is this add-on which allows cross platform functionality now an abandoned project? Oddly, none of the Google and MS support / community threads on the lack of functionality are being answered. No updates to this "add-on" since December 2022, despite massive re-vamp of the MS TEAMS software this month. A mysterious wasteland, but I inhabit it, because come people INSIST on using MS teams...

Doesn't seem to work with series invites from google calendar. It just refers to the first Teams meeting created every time? Also doesn't seem to sync events from your Teams account to the Google Calendar.

Don't bother if you don't have a Microsoft account, even if another company you work with has invited you to theirs. Microsoft Teams is unable to make that connection and will deny you. Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '********-****-****-****-************' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account.

Please help others by marking this review as helpful. For people wondering how this works, it adds Microsoft Teams button to select as a meeting room option (default being Google Meet). You may expect it to sync calendar invites but it does not. It is purely for creating an instant "Meeting Now" Teams Invite for video conference purposes. The issue that people face is due to how Teams work, with their backend emailing system being Exchange Online. If a Microsoft user sends a Teams invite to an internal user when your primary email system is Gmail, they receive an invite format that is only readable by Exchange server it is sent from. If you send it to an external domain user, Teams will use the default ICS format that supports all calendars. The fix for this is quite complex and hard to explain. What you would need to do is configure Gmail within the Exchange Admin Center as a valid connection and forward emails back to Gmail. You also need to configure the routing settings.

BIG ISSUE. If you already have meetings set up in Microsoft Teams and you want to sync them into your Google Calendar, GOOD LUCK. I have been at it for HOURS and still no sync. I have given access to everything and logged in and out. I have practically stood on my head and still NOTHING!! The refresh button is worthless. I have read several knowledge base articles wanting me to drill down on a Microsoft Teams Menu and click on something that doesn't exist so basically the SYNC option is MIA!!
