Outline gives Google Docs™ the table of contents it should have had: a live panel of every heading in your
document, always one click away from any section.

WHERE TO FIND IT AFTER INSTALLING
Outline opens in the SIDE PANEL on the right of your document, not in the Extensions menu. Look
for its icon in the narrow strip down the right edge; if that strip is hidden, click the small
arrow at the bottom-right corner to show it.

FREE, AND STAYING FREE

• See the whole structure at a glance — every heading, indented by level, in one panel.
• Jump anywhere with one click. The cursor moves to that heading; no scrolling, no scrollbar hunting.
• Works with document tabs. If your document uses tabs, each tab's headings are grouped under its name and
  clicking an entry switches to the right tab.
• Starts from nothing. Open Outline on a document that has no headings yet and it offers to turn the line
  your cursor is on into a Heading 1 — one press, the outline fills in, and Ctrl+Z undoes it.

That is the job, and it does not expire, meter or nag. If a Pro licence ever lapses, everything above keeps
working exactly as it does today.

• Word count per section. Every heading shows how much text sits beneath it, so you can spot the section
  that quietly grew to three times the size of the others. Google's built-in outline does not show this.
• Search the outline. Type a few letters and only matching headings remain — it earns its keep once a
  document passes a few dozen sections.
• Export the outline — copy it as text, or insert it into the document itself as a real table of
  contents, with each line linked to its section wherever Google Docs™ allows a link. Because Outline only ever
  touches the document you have open, this needs no extra permission.
• One licence per add-on. The key you buy here unlocks Pro in Outline, on up to three Google
  accounts. A team licence covers every add-on we publish, for a whole organisation.

BUILT TO KEEP WORKING

Add-ons in this category have a habit of quietly breaking and staying broken. This one is written
defensively: if something goes wrong, it tells you what and suggests what to do, instead of failing
silently. If you hit a problem, write to us — a person answers, and the support page lists a real address.

ONE PERMISSION, AND NOTHING LEAVES GOOGLE

Outline asks for exactly one permission: access to the document you currently have open. Not your other
documents. Not your Google Drive™. Nothing in Gmail™, Google Calendar™ or your contacts.

It runs entirely inside Google Apps Script™. There is no database, no analytics and no tracking. If you have a Pro licence, the add-on asks our licence server (goingstellar.ro) once a day whether that key is still active — that request carries the licence key and a random identifier for the installation, and nothing from your file. Without a licence key it makes no network request at all. Your headings are read into memory to draw the panel and discarded when you close it. Nothing is
transmitted to us, because there is nowhere for it to be transmitted to.

HOW TO USE IT

1. Install, then open any Google Docs™ documents™ document.
2. Open Outline from the side panel on the right.
3. The outline is built from heading styles. If the document has none yet, put the cursor on a section
   title and press "Make this line a heading"; or style them yourself (Format → Paragraph styles →
   Heading 1/2/3).
4. Click any entry to jump there. Press Refresh after you add new headings.
