Payout Export Cleaner knows what a Shopify™ Payments or Stripe™ payout export is. It checks that the gross, fees and refunds add up to the payout, and splits a payout into separate columns ready for the journal or bank-line you import into Xero™ or QuickBooks™. Export the file from your Shopify or Stripe dashboard, open it in Google Sheets™, and run the check.

CLEAN A PAYOUT EXPORT
• Net that is not gross minus fee
• A payout Total that is not charges, refunds, adjustments and reserves less fees
• Fees missing or netted off
• Refunds and disputes stored with the wrong sign
• The same transaction twice
• More than one currency in the file (flagged, never converted or added together)
• Lines in no payout, or an export that cuts across a payout boundary
• Dates stored as text or with mixed UTC offsets, and amounts stored as text
• A balance summary whose ending balance does not add up
• Stray spaces, including in cells that look blank

SPLIT A PAYOUT
Gross in, gross out, fee and net go into new columns beside your data, so a SUMIF by payout gives the sales, refund and fee lines for a journal. Your original columns are never overwritten.

CHECK BEFORE UPLOADING
• A manual journal whose lines do not add up to zero
• A missing or blank account code
• A clearing line that does not match the bank deposit
• Bank-line files: layout, dates, signs and currency symbols

NOTHING AMBIGUOUS IS CHANGED SILENTLY
Every fix is previewed cell by cell before anything is written. A value the add-on cannot read is explained, never rewritten. A guess goes into a new column and leaves the original alone. Dates with an offset are never converted to another zone. Where a platform's file layout could not be confirmed against a real export, the add-on explains and warns but does not change your cells. Every fix can be undone.

PRIVACY
