The app uses smart detection to identify personal information, financial data, government IDs, medical details, and confidential business content, helping teams find what needs to be removed faster. Users can review suggested redactions, manually redact selected areas, and permanently sanitize documents before sharing them.

Unlike simple black-box overlays, PDF Redact performs irreversible redaction at the pixel level, helping ensure the original sensitive content cannot be recovered from hidden text layers or metadata. Had to redact 47 pages of medical records for a HIPAA request last week. Uploaded the file, the AI flagged all the patient info, I approved it, done. The whole thing took maybe five minutes. Would have taken me an hour and a half doing it by hand. Seriously impressed.

I process FOIA requests for a county government office. We used to print, manually black out info, then scan everything back in. This tool cut that entire process down to a few clicks. My coworkers thought I was exaggerating until they tried it themselves. Now the whole department uses it. Even works on our phones which is great for when we're working remotely.

The redaction is permanent which is the most important part. Not just a black box sitting on top of text that someone can copy paste underneath. This actually removes the data.
