Bring a PDF into Google Docs™ and keep working where your documents already live.

PDF Unfold opens in a Google Docs™ sidebar. Choose a PDF from your computer, select the pages you need, and import editable pages into a new or current document in Google Docs™. For the current document, choose Add pages to the end or Replace everything.

All conversions produce editable content:

- Editable text and tables: reconstruct text, supported tables, and form fields so you can select and change their contents. Scanned pages use OCR to recognize text.
- Choose the destination: add pages to the end of the current document, replace all its content, or create a separate document in Google Docs™.

You can choose individual pages or ranges, supply the password for a protected PDF you are authorized to open, review conversion notices, and open the newly created document in Google Docs™.

Choose from three tiers, each including OCR and editable imports:

- Free: five pages once per add-on account, with no payment card required.
- Pro: 500 pages per calendar month (UTC) for US$9.99 monthly or US$89.99 yearly, charged upfront. The monthly page allowance does not roll over and stays the same with yearly billing.
- Unlimited: no monthly page cap for US$17.99 monthly or US$159.99 yearly, charged upfront.

Applicable taxes are shown at checkout. Subscriptions renew automatically; cancel renewal through the billing portal opened from the add-on. The Free tier does not automatically become a subscription.

Conversions accept PDFs up to 200 MiB and up to 100 selected pages per job, subject to the remaining Free or Pro allowance. Processing and queue limits apply to every tier. Your chosen PDF is sent to the PDF Unfold service for conversion outside your Google account. Temporary file handling is explained in the linked privacy policy.

Editable conversion is approximate. Fonts, spacing, line breaks, and page flow can change, and OCR can misread characters. Longer edits in positioned fields may need manual resizing. Always review the result against your original, especially numbers, names, and dates. Appending to an existing document uses a DOCX round trip; the current and combined DOCX copies must each fit within 45 MB, and multiple document tabs are not supported.
