Proofkit checks the document you are writing for inconsistent spelling and for the rules your client gave you, and replaces only the spots you choose.

■ It never rewrites on its own
Findings are shown as a list. The document changes only when you press "apply" on a finding, or apply the checked ones together. Every replacement goes through the editor's own undo, so Ctrl+Z takes it back.

■ Unify inconsistent spellings across the whole document
The same word written two ways is collected into one finding with every occurrence. You choose which form to keep, then apply it everywhere at once. The replacement is done in one pass over the whole document, so applying "web site to website" cannot cascade into a broken third form.

■ Client rules per job
Register the banned words, length, and required keywords for each client once, then pick that job before you check. You no longer have to remember each client's rules while writing.

■ Boilerplate text
Sentences you write every time - a delivery note, a reply about revisions - can be inserted at the cursor with one click.

■ Same settings as the browser extension, one license for both
Settings exported from the Proofkit extension for Chrome can be pasted in here, so your jobs, your own spelling dictionary, and your boilerplate carry over. One license key unlocks the extension and this add-on together.

■ Privacy
The spelling and client-rule checks do not send anything. They run on your document inside Google's servers, and the text of your document is never sent to us or to any third party. The only outbound request this add-on makes is to verify a license key you typed, and it carries the key alone.

■ What it does not do
- It does not rewrite your sentences for you, and it does not judge whether your writing is good.
- It does not check facts.
- Findings that span a paragraph break or a change of formatting are reported but left alone.
- AI proofreading is not offered in this add-on. It exists only in the browser extension.
