Overview
QR Code Status Tracker keeps a small operational workflow close to the sheet where your team already works.

Use it for repairs, equipment handoffs, sample handling, staging, installations, or any other process where each item needs a clear current status.

=== Use your existing labels or create QR codes ===

If items already have repair tags, job codes, serial numbers, or barcodes, use those labels. The add-on can also create a tracking code and printable QR labels when an item does not have a suitable code.

The add-on manages `[Tracking Code]` plus friendly `[Print Label]` and optional `[Tracking Link]` actions when those features are enabled. Your existing columns remain yours.

=== Move items through a small set of status steps ===

Define a short ordered set of steps such as:

Received
In Progress
Ready for Pickup

Staff can scan or type an item code, see its current status and history, and move it to the next step from the sidebar or phone scanner. A short undo window helps correct an accidental move.

=== Give customers a simple status page ===

You can optionally let customers see an item's current progress from a link-only status page. Each page uses a long, unguessable item link and is not listed publicly. Anyone you share the link with can view that item's published status information. Customers do not need access to your spreadsheet or a Google account.

=== What the add-on does ===

- Reads the current Google Sheets™ spreadsheet to identify items.
- Keeps item identifiers and your existing columns in the sheet.
- Sends the workflow data needed for status tracking to Trak.
- Shows current status and history in the add-on.
- Creates printable QR labels when you choose generated codes.
- Lets staff update status from the sidebar or phone scanner.

=== What it does not do ===

- It does not manage inventory quantities.
- It does not manage borrowers or stockrooms.

=== Get started ===

1. Install the add-on.
2. Open the Google Sheets™ spreadsheet that contains your item rows.
3. Open Extensions, then QR Code Status Tracker.
4. Choose the sheet, how items are identified, and the status steps.
5. Save setup, create labels if needed, then scan or find an item and move it to its next status.
