Overview
ReportZen brings your Salesforce reports into Google Sheets™ in full — not just the first 2,000 rows. Use the reports you already built in Salesforce as they are. No SOQL required.

USE IT WHEN

- Your Salesforce report stops at 2,000 rows when you pull it into Google Sheets™
- A large report imports only the header row and no data
- Salesforce warns that your report has more results than the 2,000-row display limit
- You export a CSV every week and paste it into a spreadsheet by hand
- MFA enforcement or step-up authentication made report exports and syncs more painful in 2026

WHAT IT SOLVES

When you pull a Salesforce report into a spreadsheet, it stops at 2,000 rows. That is a limit of the Salesforce reports API, so the usual workaround is to split the report by filters and stitch the pieces together by hand, every single time.

ReportZen removes that step. It pages through the report by record ID, one page after another, and writes every row into your sheet. Reports with tens of thousands of rows come through in one run.

WHAT YOU GET

Free
- CSV import by drag and drop (works even without Salesforce admin rights)
- API report retrieval up to 2,000 rows, so you can confirm it works before buying

Unlocked with a license key
- Full report retrieval with automatic paging — no row limit
- Daily automatic refresh at the hour you choose
- Multiple reports managed together from a single settings sheet

MFA AND STEP-UP AUTHENTICATION

ReportZen connects through a Salesforce Connected App using server-to-server authentication (the OAuth client credentials flow). Salesforce states that automated background jobs are not subject to step-up authentication for reports.
In September 2026, we confirmed on a Salesforce Developer Edition test org that a report of more than 2,000 rows was retrieved in full with no authentication prompt.
This is not a guarantee for every org or configuration. See the FAQ below for details.

HOW YOUR DATA IS HANDLED

- Data moves directly between your spreadsheet and your own Salesforce org. It never passes through the developer's servers or any third party.
- Your connection details (domain, consumer key, consumer secret) are stored only in the private UserProperties of your own Google account. Sharing the spreadsheet does not share your credentials.
- ReportZen only reads from Salesforce. It never writes back to your Salesforce data.
- The add-on accesses no file other than the spreadsheet it is installed in. It requests no Google Drive™ or Gmail™ permissions.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SET UP

Salesforce is a cloud CRM service used by companies to manage customers and deals. It is provided by Salesforce, Inc., a third party unrelated to the developer of this add-on. ReportZen connects to your own Salesforce org's API to read your reports.

To connect, someone in your organization needs to create one "Connected App" in Salesforce and paste the issued key and secret into the add-on's settings dialog. Creating it requires Salesforce administrator rights, so if you do not have them, you will need to ask your IT administrator.

- Step-by-step setup guide you can hand to your IT administrator:
  https://getreportzen.com/en/setup.html
- If you do not have a Salesforce account yet:
  For business use, see https://www.salesforce.com/
For a free environment to try this out, sign up for a Developer Edition org at
  https://developer.salesforce.com/signup

If a Connected App cannot be created in your environment, the free CSV import still works on its own.

SUPPORTED REPORTS

- Tabular reports (summary and matrix formats are not supported)
- The report must include a record ID column (such as Account ID). If it does not, ReportZen shows you the available column names so you can add one.

LICENSING

Installation is free. Full retrieval and automatic refresh are unlocked by entering a purchased license key from the menu. The key is stored in the Google account of the person who enters it.
