The app works as advertised. Both John 3:16 and Jn 3:16 yield the correct Bible verse, that is, according to the official abbreviations of the 66 Books of Scripture according to the SBL. Other permutations such as John 3 will render John 3:1, a useful feature for identifying a chapter. In Future updates I hope Jn 3 16, Jn 3.16, and Jn3.16 would render the correct bible verses successfully. One drawback of the app is the scripture renderings are limited to the uncopyrighted KJV, since the app is a personal project of someone who I believe is a member of the LDS church. Ironically LDS holy texts in addition to the Bible do not render on the app. I would like to see an app like this for Google Chrome and other platforms and appreciate it greatly as I have always wanted to live in a world where Bible verses are hyperlinked. Even though the app is currently limited to the KJV familiar readers of the Bible are greatly helped by the rendering of uncommon Bible verses as they are reminding of the topic of the chapter in question.

This is such an innovative and exciting improvement to Gmail! I love the way it goes immediately to scripture references which saves study time and makes related resources and background study of a specific scripture so readily available. Try it, you won't be sorry!!
