Search and Replace Colors and Fonts lists every color and font used in a Google Slides™ presentation, a Google Docs™ document or a Google Sheets™ spreadsheet, then replaces the ones you pick everywhere in the file at once. It is built for brand work: rolling out a new visual identity, matching a client's guidelines, or cleaning up a file that several people have edited. A typical case: the client sends new brand guidelines and your 60-slide deck still uses the old blue and Arial. Open the add-on, tick the old colors, choose the new one, click Replace. Do the same for fonts. Masters, layouts and tables are included. — Replace colors — • Scans the whole file and shows each color with the number of times it is used • Select one or several colors and replace them with a new one, using the color picker or an exact HEX code • Save your brand colors as a named custom palette and reuse it on every file • In presentations: text and highlights, shape fills and outlines, lines, table cells and borders, image and chart outlines, slide backgrounds, theme colors, masters and layouts. Decks with several themes get one palette per theme. • In documents: text and highlights, table cells and borders, headers, footers, footnotes and document tabs • In spreadsheets: cell fills, text, borders, sheet tab colors, conditional formatting, alternating colors, charts and the spreadsheet theme • Works as a color changer too: change one color everywhere in the file in a single pass — Replace fonts — • Lists every font in the file with its weights and how often each one is used • Simple mode: swap a font and weight for another in one click, for example Arial Regular to Inter Regular • Advanced mode: target an exact font, weight and size combination, then keep or change the weight and the size • Pick from the full Google Fonts™ library available in Google's editors • In documents, the named styles (Title, Heading 1, Heading 2…) are updated too • A font changer for the whole file: change all fonts at once or just one, and keep your typography consistent — Text styles — • Save typographic styles (font, weight, size) and apply them to selected text in one click • Turn a font already used in the file into a reusable style • Export your styles to a file and import them on another computer or share them with your team • In documents, edit and apply the built-in styles (Heading 1, Heading 2…) directly — Who uses it — • Agencies and studios that adapt decks to each client's brand guidelines • In-house brand, design and marketing teams rolling out a new identity across dozens of files • Founders and consultants who build their own pitch decks and training material without a designer • Freelance designers handing over files that match the brand exactly • Schools, universities and professional firms that want consistent files without design skills — How it differs from other options — • The built-in "Edit theme" in Google Slides™ changes theme colors and master fonts, but not colors and fonts applied directly to text, shapes and tables, which is where most inconsistencies come from. This add-on handles both, and also works in documents and spreadsheets. • Advanced Find & Replace for Slides searches for text, including regular expressions, then changes the formatting of what it finds. This add-on works the other way round: it searches by color or by font, whatever the text says, and also covers shapes, lines, tables and backgrounds. • Most color and font replacers only work in presentations. This add-on also works in documents and spreadsheets, and adds a reusable brand palette, text styles, and an advanced mode that targets an exact font, weight and size. — Frequently asked questions — How do I change all fonts at once in Google Slides™? Open your presentation, go to Extensions > Search&Replace > Replace Fonts, tick the fonts to change, choose the new font and weight, and click Replace. Every slide, layout and master is updated. How do I replace a color everywhere in a Google Docs™ document? Open the add-on from the side panel, choose Replace Colors, select the old color, choose the new one or type its HEX code, and click Replace. Text, highlights, tables, headers, footers and footnotes are all covered. Can I change the colors of a whole spreadsheet at once? Yes. Cell fills, text, borders, tab colors, conditional formatting, alternating colors and charts are replaced in one pass. Are bold, italic and size kept when I replace a font? Yes. Simple mode only changes the font and its weight. Advanced mode also lets you change the size if you want to. Does it work with PowerPoint files? Yes, once the file is converted to Google format (File > Save as Google Slides™, Docs™ or Sheets™). Add-ons don't run on files still open in Office compatibility mode. What does it not change? Gradients, shadows and WordArt are not supported. In documents, the page background color is not changed. Is my file content stored or sold? No. The add-on reads the file to list its colors and fonts and to apply the changes you request. Your content is not stored or sold. The add-on says my administrator has blocked it. What should I do? Your Google Workspace™ administrator controls which add-ons can run. Ask them to allow Search and Replace Colors and Fonts in the Admin console.
