This is one of my favorite extensions—it genuinely helps me learn more about the people accessing my Drive documents. As an account manager and client success lead, staying connected with clients and sharing the right documents with the right teams is essential. I am from the account management team of an interior design firm where coordination with clients is the primary job role for my whole team and using a CRM was not as cost effective for us as it may be for others. This is where we tried using Shared Contacts for Gmail to manage the contact details of our clients, share them with team members, and have the meeting points as part of contact notes. To our surprise, we were easily able to execute all of this without costing an arm and a leg. Our whole team is a big fan of their web app and the Drive add-on that works like a charm. It is not just any contact sharing app for us, it is more of a CRM!"

I operate a small group of counsellors who specialize in helping people with addictions improve their conditions. For this, we keep a record of all of our patients segmented by the type of addiction and the counsellor who is helping them. This record not only helps in keeping track of our patients’ conditions through the notes and remarks added by the counsellors after each session, but it also helps in record keeping. It also helps in following up with our recovered patients just to keep in touch. This tool helps us do it directly from their website and our counsellors can easily access these shared contacts on their phones and any other device they prefer. We simply share necessary files with these contact groups based on the addiction and the counsellor and everything else is synced automatically based on the updates made by the counsellors.

This is one of my favorite extensions that actually helps me get to know more about the people who access my drive documents. I work as the account manager and client success head so it is automatically the part of my job to stay in touch with all of my clients and being able to share the relevant docs to the teams. Google Contacts and Google Drive alone didn’t make it easy for me but I am thankful team Shared Contacts for Gmail actually have!

My team organizes prayers for which we keep the different sets of contacts for different types of prayers we organize like regular prayers, occasional prayers, out of town prayers and more. Only having these separated did not solve our problem, because we needed to have it shared between all the members while keeping it centralized and updated. It is not something for which we should have used a CRM which will be costly, so we chose to give this tool a try. We simply moved our separate contact lists into Google Contacts and created different labels. Using the Drive Add-on let us share the prayers on the drive with different prayer groups which was great as we could see who was in those groups and who was getting access to the necessary prayers. It is really an effective app for churches.

My favorite feature of this amazing tool is that it allows me to easily see all the members of a Google file in no time. I create multiple files for various events that my team organizes and all of these google files include various stakeholders for a particular event. Now, having to remember who is the part of a group for document sharing and other important details is essential and humanly impossible, which is why I use Shared Contacts for Gmail to tell me who are the members of a Google Group I am dealing with. I simply go to the file opr document and see the shared labels. The labels are shared with various groups and when I click on a group, all the members with their contact information are right there on the screen. It is great!

Sharing contacts for our law firm has been one of the biggest pains and we were using Office exchange, which has its own limitations. One of our colleagues suggested we contact this company to see if they can help us in any way, considering we are not using Google Workspace. In the very first call, their team smoothly guided us on what needs to be done and we were on-boarded on migrating our contacts from Office to Google Workspace, partly because it was better for us and partly because they offered us to do the migration on our behalf. Once they successfully migrated our contacts, they helped us understand how we can make the most out of their web application, mobile apps and especially the drive add-on. We organized our contacts in labels and this app gave us powers to share these contacts with anyone in our team or anyone else who is using Gmail. In addition, our contacts list is automatically updated every time any member makes any changes to the shared contacts. Their company and the services they offer are exceptional. They apparently give you power to share contacts, but they actually help us do so much more!

My team organizes different congregations in which we are required to invite and collaborate with one or more clergy members. In addition, we are required to have an organized communication channel with them where we can keep them informed about various events and activities. For this we use Google drive and email communications in order to deliver documents and threads in the right way to the right people. The management of contacts within the drive for us is the key. This is why we use this tool to organize our contacts in labels in a proper way and share them with a small team who usually are engaged in email and document communications. It is really accurate and saves us a great amount of time as we have direct access to see who has access to our files.
