Imagine you're conducting a study where multiple data collectors are filling out the same Google Formโ„ข for each participant. Each data collector might have a different section of the Google Formโ„ข to fill out, but they all use a common identifier for each participant, like a participant ID. When all the inputs are collected into a Google Sheetโ„ข, you might end up with multiple rows for the same participant, each filled out by a different data collector.

This add-on helps you consolidate all that information into a single row for each participant. It does this by using the participant ID as a unique identifier. When you use the add-on, it asks you to specify which column contains the participant IDs or whatever identifier you give to your respondents. Then, it goes through each row in the sheet. If it finds a row with a participant ID that it hasn't seen before, it keeps that row. If it finds a row with a participant ID it has seen before, it merges the new information from that row with the information already collected for that participant. This way, you end up with a clean, consolidated list where each participant has only one row, containing all the information collected from all the different sections of the Google Formโ„ข.

This process is like having a big, messy pile of papers, each with a piece of the puzzle for a single participant. The add-on sorts through all those papers, putting each piece of the puzzle together into a single, complete picture for each participant. It's a way to organize and simplify the data, making it easier to analyze and understand.
