SlideCite is a Google Slides™ add-on designed to streamline the process of academic citation and reference management directly within your presentations. It eliminates the need to switch between your slides and external reference managers, helping you maintain focus on your content while ensuring your sources are cited correctly.

This tool is built for students, academics, researchers, and anyone who needs to present sourced information and maintain academic integrity.

CORE FEATURES

* Add In-Text Citations: Select text in your slide and use the sidebar to insert a formatted in-text citation. The add-on handles the placement and styling based on your chosen citation format.

* Build a Persistent Reference Library: Your reference library is linked to your Google Account. Any source you add is saved and available across all your Google Slides™ presentations, creating a central database for all your research.

* Generate a Bibliography Slide: With a single click, SlideCite scans your entire presentation for cited sources and automatically generates a formatted bibliography slide at the end of your deck. If you add or remove citations, you can update the bibliography just as easily.

WAYS TO ADD AND MANAGE SOURCES

* Web Search: Quickly find and import sources from online databases by providing a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), ISBN, URL, or arXiv ID.

* Import from Other Managers: Migrate your existing reference libraries by importing files in standard academic formats, including BibTeX (.bib) and RIS (.ris).

* Manual Entry: For sources that aren't available online, a comprehensive manual entry form allows you to add all necessary details for various source types (e.g., Book, Journal Article, Website).

* Full Reference Management: View, search, edit, and delete any source within your library directly from the sidebar.

SUPPORTED CITATION STYLES

SlideCite supports several of the most common academic citation styles. You can switch between them at any time, and both your in-text citations and your bibliography will reformat accordingly. Supported styles include:
* APA 7th Edition
* MLA 9th Edition
* Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition
* IEEE
* Vancouver

HOW IT WORKS

1. Add a Source: Use the "Web Search," "Manual Entry," or "Import" tabs in the sidebar to add a reference to your personal library.
2. Cite Your Text: Highlight the text you wish to cite in a slide, find the corresponding source in your library, and click to add the in-text citation.
3. Generate Bibliography: Navigate to the "Bibliography" tab, select your desired style, and click "Generate Bibliography Slide" to create a complete reference list.

By integrating the essential functions of a reference manager directly into the Google Slides™ interface, SlideCite helps you reduce manual formatting, prevent errors, and produce more professional, accurately cited presentations.
