🌐 Pick a language
Choose from 100+ target languages, including Haitian Creole, Hmong, Somali, Dari and Pashto. Search by the English name or the language's own name; the ones you used last are at the top of the list. The sidebar stays open beside the deck, so you keep seeing your slides.

📑 Choose what to translate
Under "What to translate", pick all slides (the default), the slide you are on, or the slides and text boxes you have selected. The button reads "Translate this deck", "Translate this slide" or "Translate selection", and the text is replaced right where it is, in the open deck. Changes made by an add-on cannot be undone with Ctrl+Z, so the sidebar asks you to confirm first, and File > Version history brings the original back.

✏️ Keep the original? Make a copy first
Want the translation in a separate file? Press "Make a copy first" in the sidebar: it opens Google's own copy page for this deck. Then open Slides Translator in the copy and translate there. The original stays as it is, with its comments, version history and sharing.

📖 A glossary for your terms
Add the terms to keep as they are, or to translate your way, one row each: the term, and what to translate it as. Names, subject terms and school or company wording stay consistent through the whole deck.

⏱️ Progress you can follow
The sidebar shows each step as it happens: read the deck, translate, write the translation. Keep it open until it is done; then you get the number of slides translated into your language. If a run fails, it says why in plain words and nothing is counted.

🔎 A short list of lines to check
If a line comes back incomplete, it is left as it was and listed as a line that needs a check, with its slide number. Open one to read the original beside the translation, fix it and save: it is written into the deck on its own. Fixing a line does not count toward your free slides.

🗒️ Speaker notes and tables
Text in shapes, tables, groups and speaker notes is translated; switch the notes off under the cog to leave them as they are. Bold, italics, links, fonts, font sizes and colours stay where you put them: translations are written run by run, not slide by slide.

Every plan, including the free one, translates with Gemini or Claude, whichever currently gives the best result in our tests. There is no key to set up and no engine to pick.

💳 Free every month
Slides Translator translates 30 slides a month for free, with no credit card and no trial that runs out. A slide counts once per language each time it is translated, slides without text do not count, and the sidebar shows how many are left. A run that would go over is refused before anything is translated, so nothing is counted. A paid plan, monthly or yearly, lifts the free limit: unlimited slides for normal use.

GOOD TO KNOW
- Slides Translator translates text. Text inside images is not read.
- One target language per run. Run it again for the next language.
- Right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew are translated, but the paragraph direction is not changed.
- The text of your presentation is sent to Skyfield's server, which has it translated by an AI provider (Gemini or Claude) acting on our behalf. What is stored, and for how long, is set out in the privacy policy.
