Works very well for me! Many of the bad reviews are more than a year old, so I guess they have fixed a few things. I just I wish there is a way to reuse an existing citation to a text, instead of having to copy paste.

It works okay for me. ReadCube is not as good of a platform as the legacy Paper3, but the ability to work on GoogleDocs is a very nice feature

It's truly terrible. It's so terrible it's hard to imagine that they thought this was ready for release to the public. This shouldn't have made it past their own internal evaluations. I love the Papers app, but unfortunately and shockingly, this add-on just doesn't work with google docs. Save yourself the headache. You're better off doing your citations by hand.

This feels much like the Word version in that it promises a lot but does nothing well. My current issue is that it does not insert a bibliography at all. Apparently this is a "known issue" but they have no idea of when a fix will be available. I really have hated using this software and wish I never moved over from Papers 3. They have nice support people like Cary and Ayie trying to help out, but ultimately it boils down to software that does not work as advertised (or at all). Beware of the marketing hype on their website "Citing references doesn't need to be a painful process!". Using this citation manager (both Word and Google docs versions) has been the most painful process of my academic life.

Unfortunately the "Insert Bibliography" button doesn't do anything... Also, the absence of keyboard shortcuts to invoke search (followed by insertion) and the general slowness of the "Insert Citation", makes the user experience pretty clunky and unfriendly. Hope this tool comes out of beta soon and that these issues are addressed, as this will be a dealbreaker for me, despite all the amazing features of the papers app itself.

Unusable! "Insert bibliography" works exactly once, when done for the first time. When updating the references it simply removes the bibliography. I bought a papers readcube subscription because papers 3 got phased out on the mac. I can't use it in word because my institutional MS office subscription won't let me install the add-on; this is a common problem that readcube acknowledges in their help pages. They recommend to use Google docs with SmartCite, LOL!! Kafka would have loved this. From the other reviews I reckon that this is an ongoing problem. They can't seem to offer a product that is capable of proper citation management. This doesn't make sense; I'll cancel my subscription and go back to Mendeley and/or Latex/Overleaf.

Essentially unusable. Not sure it even works at all with Google Docs that started as word files. I tried to import my EndNote file (as XML). It stripped out so much information that the import is worthless.
