I have been a Spanning customer for over 9 years, but since the Kaseya takeover, Spanning backup is no longer fit for purpose. For the whole month of July, Google backups were only happening once a week as opposed to daily and Gmail backups were missing chunks of data. Whats worse, is that I was still getting a daily email saying the backup was complete! Terrible customer service and Joseph Noonan who is Spanning General Manager doesnt have a reply button on his email client.

as other have noticed, Spaning *was* a good program until recently, when they made the interface completely confusing and illogical. The program itself seems much slower, but there are so many other factors that affect speed I can not say this with any assurance. I'm looking for a replacement for Spanning, al the same. Pity.

To echo what others have said, this USED to be a fantastic product. I was recently contacted by a sales associate and told that our account was in arrears due to consuming too much data and that we owed money per their EULA. When we originally signed up for the service we were quoted Unlimited Data + Unlimited Retention, a quote which I luckily kept to plead my case. At the end of it I don't think we ended up owing any money because they have since stopped responding to my email. I've since disabled the application on our Workspace and have moved on but I really don't understand the purpose is alienating a customer base for the sake of a few hundred dollars? Even though I've cancelled autorenewal on the account, I haven't received confirmation that it has been cancelled. I already have a sneaking suspicion that accounting will have to call our credit card issuer to lodge a complaint for fraudulent charges.

I've been using this product for several years now, and it is simple to set up, simple to administer, and it effectively protects your data from all sorts of data-loss scenarios. On top of that it is very cost-effective. Highly recommend!

Horrendous company to deal with, the product may work, but the company are terrible. I strongly recommend that you avoid them at all costs! We are stuck in a three-year contract with them, once this is up, we will not be renewing and will not ever be using this or anything else from Kaseya.

UPDATE: Had to actually go from 5 stars to 2 stars as their customer support + service has just gone downhill the past few years. The interface has been an outdated single-page app that doesn't work with forward/backward history which makes navigating it a pain, and it's just an outdated interface. Also, the new billing through their parent company (that acquired them) Kaseya has been a total nightmare. It feels so cliche to say, but since their acquisition especially, their service has gone so downhill. As it has been something more in the background though, I haven't cared too much, but I'm officially gone, found Afi AI and their team seems smaller, more responsive, and a much better UI/UX and product. Wish I had made the switch a few years ago TBH. -- ORIGINAL REVIEW WHEN I HAD 5 STARS: -- This app is so needed if you are on G Suite. You don't have to sit and worry about Ransomware or worry about losing any of your data. It is that nice peace of mind so it is now a requirement for our clients whose G Suite accounts we manage. If you have a lot of data on your account and your company relies on G Suite, you really need to have Spanning. Blows my mind how many companies don't care about backups. Set it and forget it.

I wish I could give them 6 stars. I shopped around and tried 3 other competitors' gsuite backup solutions before choosing Spanning. Immediately upon my initial install at around 8AM, I had a problem so I called tech support. Not expecting to actually reach a person, I was pleasantly surpsrised to speak with someone knowledgeable (Daniel Oo) who walked me through the process, helped me figure out what I had misunderstood/done wrong, and even called back a few hours later to make sure all was working. Later, during the trial period when I had decided to purchase, there was a mixup with the billing dept. and I had a complaint about a slight overcharge, which I voiced via email. Two separate people reached out to me to make sure the problem had been corrected (it was) and to make sure I was happy (I am). I'm not accustomed to such great support and follow-up. This company clearly cares about its customers. That's not enough of a reason to stay with them, so I should mention that I've thoroughly tested the backup service by creating, editing, deleting, and selectively restoring files to make sure it actually works. It does. And for a small domain like mine, none of the competition comes clsoe to the Spanning's pricing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I have used Spanning cloud backup since 2012. However, lately the backup report shows lots of errors in backup. This has been going on for months and they seem unable (or uwvilling) to fix it. I tried to stop auto renew but I could not get confirmation that I was successful. Their website still says my account is set for autorenewal. I also tried to remove my credit card details but that was not possible. I can changed it to another credit card but not remove altogether. It seems trouble started when Kaseya took over the company. Currently I would warn anyone else and advice avoid this company.

I was in dire straights looking for a solid backup solution for my G Suite (Google WorkSpace). I had tried several backup solutions, but they were very clunky and unreliable. I found Spanning and gave it a try. Not only did it do what I needed it to do, but it exceeded my expectations. I have shared accounts in Google that many people have access to; documents are constantly being deleted by accident; if it were not for Spanning, I would be in trouble. I have used this software to restore files and folders several times. The product works flawlessly, and I would highly recommend this as the number one Google Workspace backup.

We used Spanning backup before Kaseya bought them out. We never had any issues, In 2020 someone on Kaseya’s end did not provision the licensing correctly for several of our domains. This caused us to lose YEARS of backups. We overlooked this situation as we completely understand that things happen, just recently the same exact thing happened! This time we lost about 30 days of backups. I do not recommend anyone use any Kaseya products, their organization has grown too big and there is a huge disconnect between the departments. STAY AWAY
