概览
Syntax Palette is an add-on that makes code in Google Docs™ and Google Slides™ easier to read. It eliminates the tedious work of selecting individual characters to apply colors or italics manually.

■ Two Ways to Use It

Apply Formatting to Existing Code
Select code already entered in your document, then run the add-on to apply formatting in place. This is useful for polishing existing documents such as lecture materials and assignments.

Insert New Code
Paste code into the sidebar and run the add-on to insert it at the cursor position with formatting already applied. You can also specify the code block background and font size.

■ Programming Language Syntax Highlighting

The add-on supports C, C++, Python, and JavaScript. If no language is specified, it automatically detects the language based on the code.

The colors follow Visual Studio Code’s default themes. Both Light+ and Dark+ are available, faithfully reproducing even the distinction between control-flow keywords and declaration keywords. Strings, comments, numbers, function names, and data types are each displayed in different colors.

■ Pseudocode Typesetting

The add-on supports pseudocode notation commonly used in algorithm courses and textbooks. Because elements are distinguished using type styles rather than colors, the output is suitable for printed materials and submitted assignments.

· Variable and array names are italicized
· Reserved words appear in bold roman type; numbers and procedure names appear in regular roman type
· Korean explanatory text appears in regular roman type because Korean fonts do not have true italic letterforms and slanting them distorts the characters
· The body font can be selected in the sidebar from 26 options, including Courier New, Roboto Mono, IBM Plex Mono, and Times New Roman

You can customize the list of reserved words because conventions vary between textbooks and courses. Your customized list is saved to your account and remains available the next time you open a document. Matching is case-insensitive, so `FOR`, `For`, and `for` are all recognized as the same reserved word.

Frequently used symbols are automatically converted when code is inserted.

```text
<-  →  ←
->  →  →
<=  →  ≤
>=  →  ≥
!=  →  ≠
```

■ How to Use

1. From the Extensions menu, select Syntax Palette and open the sidebar.
2. Choose a language and theme.
3. Select code in the document and apply formatting, or paste code into the sidebar and insert it.

■ Privacy

This add-on can access only the document currently open. It cannot access any other files in your Google Drive™.

All processing takes place within your Google account. Document content is neither transmitted to nor stored on external servers. The add-on does not collect usage records or analytics data.

■ Notes

Only the resulting formatting remains in the document. If you edit the code after applying formatting, the colors and italics will not update automatically, so you must run the add-on again.

Processing may take some time for very long code. Up to 60,000 characters can be processed at once.
